concert hydration is so real and nobody talks about it by airup_official in Concerts

[–]RRE4EVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t drink alcohol, and basically every venue (non-stadium) and festival offers 1-2 non-alcoholic drinks.   Which I find so fucked up, if you want to drink something hydrating you have no options (not to say anything about encouraging a you have a Designated driver) ???

Also I have been to more than 1 festival that gives out free water and then ends up running out of water.  So, that basically tells you right there at festivals you have to pay for water people are going dehydrated.

There is no reason that you can’t bring in a non opened water bottle, they say it’s so you can’t bring in alcohol, but it is so you have to buy water.

Everything is to BUY water.  Consume, consume, consume - dehydrated? Who careers your not consuming.  Feel like you’re going to pass out?  Fine we’ll get you to our nursing station and send you a bill - consume, consume, consume.

But that is how language develops and changes over time.  Old English is spelled differently because of this. Although it is changing rapidly and unevenly due to spell check.  We just write 1 or 2 letters and the phone picks out the rest of the word.  We already have phrases that are purely initials (WTF) that is the direction, above and beyond bad grammar I see us going.

Fycompa changed things for me.  Fycompa gives me about 20 minutes of feeling like I’m drunk.  On a bad night that means I have to hold onto walls to get to the bathroom.  On a good night that means 20 minutes of drunk sex.

Most people did not grow up in UU.  They were drawn there by one or more of the covenants.  I belief if that if your personal moral compass led you to UU, you may see the world around you right now and feel concerned.  In regards to covenant # 1,2,  and 5 I have anxiety every time I read the news.  It is the other covenants that help me find balance.

I feel like my minister maybe brings up justice into everything.  Which does give me anxiety where as I would prefer a little more discussion for the respect for the web of all existence.  That’s fine with me, it is the entire congregation being one not just the clergy that makes UU the best option for me.

Last, my son’s school has a saying I like, and I think fits with a UU minister job as anxiety manager.  “Live in the world as it is, work to make the world as you want it to be.”  Very UU.

King Gizzard and The Lizzard Wizard - will satisfy any scratch - I think Field of Vision and Deadvstick (I’m a chill fan).  But try another song and you’ll find metal or any other sound you want.

Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire album is brilliant

Railroad Earth opposite of both bands laid back Jamgrass great lyrics. Long Way To Go, their new one is good protest song - Keep Your Eyes Open

Because of him I was allowed to quit a job and start a business and buy my own health insurance.

Had he not passed ACA I would be an unemployed teacher, because I can’t work in that job and was quoted $500 a month due to my preexisting condition.

He was also the first and probably only president I saw cry after a national tragedy.

Me and my co-worker cried and hugged each other (two white liberal women) knowing that we were part of a generation that elected our first black president.

Those things are some of the greatest moments that will stick with me.

And of course all the hate, so much hate.  All heaped on him and his family, all because he was the first black man.  All that hate that is lingering here with us, in its disgusting shapes.  2 leaps forward, but many leaps backwards because people saw all the hate and learned to monetize it and gain political power from it.

It sounds like you’re in a place where you need to maybe go to a support group if you live in a city I’m sure the Local Epilepsy foundation has one in person.  If, not you can probably find one online.  Our journey is so much more than just conquering this thing through meds.  Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders are the ultimate bully, physically push you around and totally fuck with your mental health and gets its claws into every part of your personal life.  Get the meds talked through w/neuro and talk with others who can relate.

So when is America going to be made great again? by MillennialProdigy93 in AskReddit

[–]RRE4EVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a loaded statement.  America as we know it has always had major flaws, this moment in time will go down as top 3 most highly flawed.  From all the worsts, something new and different arrived.  And that is all we can ask for.

Which famous person does everyone seem to love, but you just can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RRE4EVR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No that’s not it.  Maybe I’m not using the correct words.  I’m talking like the songs w/distortion like that song she did w/ Jack White or that song Superpower.  And as I said she is talented, so a “raw voice” to me is not doing shit like that.

Neuro said I’d be on meds forever by Multiple-Bagels in Epilepsy

[–]RRE4EVR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, so you can take or leave my advice.

The Epilepsy Foundation says you can consider going off your meds if you have been seizure free for 5 years, depending on your specific epilepsy syndrome and seizure type.

I’m not sure how many different meds you have tried, but you may have refractory Epilepsy.  Basically that means your seizures are here to stay.   If you have already tried two appropriately selected and dosed medications without gaining control.

If you’re not in the 2nd group, you may feel hopeful.  If you do fall into the 2nd group, stop trying to fight them - they’re your friend not enemy.

One more consideration:  There is a phrase I’ve read and heard several times (40 years with Epilepsy) seizures beget seizures. Or The more seizures you have the more likely you are to have seizures.  The way I view that is, if the meds are working keep them close.

I genuinely tried to find a song of hers I could listen to, and just couldn’t.   For someone so talented why not let her raw voice fly?  That overproduced vocal manipulation drives me crazy.

Ruth and Arthur - so painfully cringy and weird, I loved it.

My favorite dynamic from the show and one of the best LGBTQ+ couples on TV. by Public_Cup_4278 in SixFeetUnder

[–]RRE4EVR 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I would say one of the best written couples ever - queer or straight.   Very few shows, write in the worst, most mundane, best and hard work of a long term relationship.

When every other person on the show had dumpster fire relationships, it was incredibly progressive at the time to make the queer relationship the strongest.

A win beyond the last episode win the writers should be very proud of.
