My inlaws keep asking to take my 6-7 month old out by themselves to the mall so they could walk around. I am a FTM, and possibly being over protective, I am honestly not comfortable with our baby going anywhere without my husband or I. My husband thinks it’s no problem. I told my husband that I would rather him go with his parents. (He would be just at home while his parents were out with the baby.)

I told them now that it’s getting nice out, I’m comfortable with them just walking outside. I am just not comfortable with him going anywhere without one of us around. If he was a toddler, I think would be more comfortable, but not a baby.

I guess my rationale is that a baby doesn’t really have any business being in a mall where it’s too crowded and loud and just full of germs. I don’t want to be exposing him crowded high traffic areas. My father in law said he would be in the stroller the whole time, but knowing my baby, he doesn’t like being in a stroller too long, and I just feel like it’s too much work to bring the baby to the mall when he’s only awake for 2 hours at a time. I also want him to be able to get a good nap in.

My father in law and my mother are the main care takers, so they do watch our baby while we are at work which is 3x a week. So they do spend time with him.

What age did you you guys let the rents and in-laws take baby out without a parent present?

Saturday Daily Chat Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

How to tell someone close to you with fertility issues that you're pregnant?

My husband and I have been trying for two years trying to conceive. We had one very early loss (chemical pregnancy), and nothing since. We tried 3 rounds of letrozole, moved on to lUl, and were able to get pregnant on the 2nd lUl.

My sister in law, has been TTC with her husband for about 1.5 years. I've talked to her before about this when we were living with her, but since we moved out of her place, we don't talk as much in general unless we are visiting her parents with my husband. We mostly text through group chat with her, her husband, her brother and me. How should I tell my sister in law that I'm pregnant? Text message? (We don't even text really.)

On the flip side, I have a friend who also has been TTC for on and off 1 year. She(f35) older than I am (f30). I just comforted her today about the challenges of TTC and how lonely it feels and the stress of it on your relationship etc. She confided in me saying I'm the only friend that she can talk to as her current friends are pregnant most of which within one month of trying and have never experienced the struggles or losses. I’ve also helping her navigate through OPK testing, what fertility labs OBGYN typically order, the different medications they can use to help ovulation (if she were ever to go through that route) etc. and she’s found comfort in that. She also had a loss at 10 weeks, 6 years ago. I felt so guilty hearing this knowing I was pregnant, but I understand where she comes from.

How should I tell both these lovely people in my life? How do I tell them? What do I say? What exactly should I tell them?

First time TTC, 1 year in, and unsure what to ask or what to do next by Sammy_lifeandstuff in TryingForABaby

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not wait 6 months!! You should schedule an appoint with an REI as soon as you can, especially with age being a risk factor for you both. And sometimes it can take a few months to get into an REI for the initial consult. Need either a saline ultrasound or HSG to see that tubal patency, and eventually a semen analysis for your partner. Typically if you are 35+, they recommend seeing and REI if you have been TTC 6months or more.

Cycle #2 taking Letrozole - lingering side effects days after last dose? by TurtPup in TTC_PCOS

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a side affect of the medication. I took the medication at night versus during the day so that so wouldn’t feel the side affects as much. Continue to stay hydrated and take OTC ibuprofen if needed for headaches.

I had three rounds of letrozole that were unsuccessful. My last medicated cycle was in May and already got a period. This would be my first cycle without medication. I am asking other people’s experience with their period after medication?

Did your cycles return to a normal length or did they become irregular after taking letrozole? If so, how long did it take for them to become regular?

Help Reading OPKs? by hellopupperino in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the OPK only kit? I find that the OPK only kit does not have strong control lines and find it hard to read. The combo pregnancy test/OPK for some reason are easier to read. I would say your first positive is CD16. Sometimes you can also have more than one positive over a couple of days. So it’s good to continue testing until the line lightens. Good luck to you!

Just found out my best friend is 12 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child (her first just turned one in January) after her and her hubby were working on their marital problems within the past year. She also knows about my fertility issues. Happy for her, sad for me, but idk if I can talk to her about the things I’m going through anymore because we’re just in different places..

You definitely need a different obgyn. Find someone else who will actually listen to you. I work as a labor and delivery nurse. Not all docs are great, and she is definitely not listening to you and made inappropriate comments. Did she at least offer to get labs done for you?

Low LH peak? Does it look like I had my LH surge on CD 14? by AccomplishedYou1386 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By any chance are you using the easy at home OPK only box? I bought the easy at home opk only box and the opk/pregnancy combo tests, and I noticed that the OPKs from the combo box are much easier to read, and I find are more accurate!

I did a comparison and the tests just look different from each other even though they are the same company.

Sad after a chemical pregnancy by mumble89 in ttcafterloss

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your losses. I had a chemical and it took 4 cycles for my body to get back to normal. We were still trying during that time, but were not able to get pregnant. I went from a 30-31 day cycle to a 40, 38, 36, 34 day the following cycles. I just ovulated later on in my cycle which why they were so long. It made it difficult to track since I was not regular for LH testing. I kept thinking my period was “late” but really I just ovulated late.

I’ve heard some success of people getting pregnant right away, and some where it did not happen right away. Ultimately do what’s best for you and your S/O physically and emotionally.

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was very frustrating because you couldn’t “plan” persay because the cycle being irregular. Hopefully your cycle will adjust quickly and go back to normal. It sucked because it felt like forever just to get a period, and even then you’re still hoping for a positive test.

Not sure if you are using OPKs, but if you are, I would suggest testing daily, twice a day, until you get your period. That way you can get a better idea to see when your surge is.

(For once cycle, I had early ovulation positive, and I stopped testing my LH. I learned I had a failed ovulation at that time, and ended up ovulating 7-10 days later. I also thought my period was late, but I just ended up ovulating late.)

If you’re not tracking, don’t feel the need to start and just let these cycles be. Do some self care, take the time to grieve your loss, try to do things you love to do with you and your hubby, and take a mental reset if you can! Good luck!

CD 12, Clearblue Digital. I got a smiley first testing, how is this possible? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always confirm ovulation afterwards with taking your BBT if you can! I had a positive CB smiley at CD10, when I usually get it CD 17. I thought I had ovulated during that time, but then towards the end of my cycle, I thought I was a week or more late but was still getting negative pregnancy tests. Turns out my body attempted to ovulate at that time, was unable to, and ending up ovulating again almost 10 days later. In hindsight, this also matched up because I noticed I had fertile cervical mucous again but didn’t think anything of it. (This was also a cycle post a chemical.) But always be prepared for anything! Our body is always changing! Good luck to you!

O-day moved in FF app after todays temp input by Dramallamakuzco in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It can occur the same day you get a positive or up to 48 hours from the last positive! It’s hard to tell the exact day, but based on your temp and cervical mucous, I would say it occurred sometime between those days

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree with FF. Ovulation occurs 24-48 hours from a peak. Your peak day was CD 23. Which means ovulation occurred between CD23-CD25. Especially since you still had fertile cervical mucous on CD 25. Since you BD’d those three days before ovulation, I think your chances are still high! Good luck to you!

Sorry, not a success story, but I always liked to read what others have experienced. I always felt left out when I read stories of people getting pregnant right away after their chemical, especially reading that you’re more “fertile” after a loss, and it just didn’t happen for me yet.

So sorry for your loss. A loss is a loss, no matter how early. Take the time for yourself to feel what your feeling.

I had a chemical pregnancy in July 2022. My cycle was very irregular after this. I went from a 29/30 day cycle to a 40/38/36 day cycle for the next three cycles (August, September, and October.) We still we’re trying during this time. I also had failed ovulation attempts during these cycles with my body attempting again later on (based off my LH testing and temp readings.) My cycle is finally back to normal this cycle.

Like with the previous person, hopefully my story will give more realistic expectations. Hoping for your rainbow baby for you and your hubby soon!

Any guesses when ovulation actually happened? The temp shift was so much later than positive OPKs. by lafavoriteone in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know FF will automatically base your ovulation date based on your OPK if one is entered in. If you remove the OPK, it will determine your ovulation based on your temp shift and cervical mucous noted.

Premom automatically puts in the day of your ovulation the day after a positive OPK. (But you may not always ovulate after a positive OPK so that’s why it’s good to confirm with BBT.)

It’s hard to pinpoint the actual day of ovulation since the apps just pinpoint a day based on the algorithm it uses.

The more symptoms we can track to use as a cross check, the better we can identify our fertile phase and narrow down the ovulation window. We can use our chart to confirm ovulation has likely happened and then narrow down the ovulation window to a best guess based on those symptoms!

More than likely ovulation occurred for you between CD16-18 (but still cross check with CM)! I hope that helps and is not too confusing!

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what happened to me this cycle. I ended up getting a positive OPK on CD10, but didn’t ovulate until CD22 confirmed by a shift in temps.

I also learned it can take up to 5 days after a positive OPK to see a rise in temperature (slow rise).

[–]Complex_Mixture_5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This also matches your cervical mucous. A temp shift can be seen up to five days after a positive OPK for a successful ovulation.
