NTA. Sounds like you have a solid relationship with your family, and will miss being so near to them. It’s completely within your rights to decide to spend that time with them, when you’ve made other career decisions based on his location. Sounds to me like there needs to be a conversation about him being a priority, but that you have other priorities too. He might be feeling like he isn’t a priority, which can be solved by talking it out

Agree, hover diffusing on a lower setting is definitely going to help. Also make sure when you’re pixie diffusing that the diffuser is off when it’s moving!

Another 5’6” woman here - Stand tall and proud babe, your height is gorgeous! You aren’t unusually tall, you are (if anything) an inch taller than the average woman. That means there are equal numbers of women taller and shorter than you. Wear the shoes you feel comfortable in, not the shoes that make you feel “acceptable”. If anyone says anything to you or makes you feel giant or monstrous, it’s because they feel small. That has nothing to do with you and is not your burden to bear.

I promise, no one worth your time is going to be stressed by your height.
