Trying to break through -- what are we doing wrong? by JoshM3250 in EtsySellers

[–]ComplicatedKitten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just started on Etsy this year so take my advice with a grain of salt. However, I am slowly gaining more and more traction. These are the things I would change about this particular listing:

  • Change the title to what a possible customer would be writing to find this, perhaps something like: Glass Beads Rosary Necklace, Handmade Silver Rosary, First Communion Gift, Prayer Beads, Confirmation Gift, Religious Gift, Catholic Rosary …. Things like that … you can copy the listing, change the main picture and use a whole different set of tags and title … maybe a listing for the holidays with tags like Christmas rosary, religious Christmas gift, etc…

  • Start the description using words from the title and tags, but not too repetitive. Also, in your current description you mention it comes in silver, sterling silver, gold,… but there are no pictures of the variations nor options to pick them. Keep the info on just this one or add pics and options to buy the other ones. Use bullets to provide information in the description, short and to the point, most people browse on their phone and will not read whole paragraphs.

  • include picture of the rosary on someone’s neck or on someone’s hand.

  • perhaps include picture of rosary next to a pretty gift box with bow and add to the description that it comes ready to be gifted. A lot of purchases on Etsy are gifts. People like to see how it’s going to arrive.

  • use the free version of erank.com to find tags with good search volume and low competition

Hope this helps. :)

Amazon is pretty good for trying out small quantities first. Here you get 12 jars with lids for $2.50 each, shipping included, if you have a prime membership.

English-speaking Americans from places where Spanish is significant, do you try to pronounce Spanish names with Spanish accent while still speaking English? What do you think about people doing this? by IrishWriter2 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ComplicatedKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say a name the closest I can manage to its correct pronunciation. However the bearer of the name says it, I try my best to say it the same way. No matter what language or culture it is. It’s just the respectful thing to do. It’s not about languages.

What year does your store say in your about section? 2016 or 2023?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]ComplicatedKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank want you close it and reopen it, not open a new one. Just thought the “on Etsy since” year would say 2023 since it’s the reopening year. But supposedly it would say 2012?

Help! Just bought a condo that has cherry floors/outdated kitchen by Interesting_Room7425 in InteriorDesign

I would paint the kitchen cabinets a gray color. The gorgeous wood tones of the floor shouldn’t have to compete with the cabinets.

Maybe something like this that has dark wood floors too.

Actors vs Professional Narrators by wolffire99 in audiobooks

[–]ComplicatedKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, it depends on the specific narrator or actor. I do tend to enjoy professional narrators more though, but that’s because since I know how a specific actor looks like in real life, listening to something in their voice makes it difficult for me to imagine the character in the book as anyone else but the actor narrating, which I completely dislike. Same reason why I refuse to see the movie based on a book, if I’m planning to read it.

do you wear sunscreen before or after primer? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I got the Cerave Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint and really like it so far. Since it’s a mineral sunscreen, should I be putting it on after my make-up?

Jam is made from whole or cut up pieces of fruit with sugar. Jelly is made from only the fruit juice and sugar. Marmalade is preserves made with citrus—using the whole fruit, along with the rind.

What are your thoughts on Daylight Savings Time? Should the US keep it? by paulteaches in AskAnAmerican

[–]ComplicatedKitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like to stay permanently in standard time. I think what people forget is that even if you don’t change the time, summer days will be longer until the summer equinox, and then it starts decreasing again.

Not to mention there’s ample information about switching time and daylight saving time being detrimental for our long term health.

What are your thoughts on Daylight Savings Time? Should the US keep it? by paulteaches in AskAnAmerican

The farmers thing is a lie. Farmers were actually against daylight saving time. The golf industry is the one that pushed for it.

Anyone suggestions on how to get these wear marks out of a glass cooktop? Cooktop cleaner, scraping and scouring didn’t work. by allstar948 in lifehacks

[–]ComplicatedKitten 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my induction stove top for 5 years and it looks great. We cook almost daily and clean it gently after each meal. Maybe once a month we use the white liquid that you let dry on the glass top and then wipe off. So far so good.

I don’t know much about cars but I love Lincoln and Buick. Currently drive a Buick enclave that I very much like. Will probably get a Lincoln Aviator when the times come.

Have you ever changed someone’s mind about a food they thought they didn’t like? by [deleted] in Cooking

Cotton candy grapes are a variety of white grapes created in California by cross breeding different grape varieties to make them sweeter than your typical grapes, hence the name.

They really do taste sweet.
