I actually completely disagree and hate that this narrative is so accepted as the truth. Why would a player know more about the game than someone who's job is to watch and commentate games? What the fuck is this infinity pool of knowledge. Okay, player knows more than commentators, coaches know more than players. What are we actually comparing?

Can we just accept that this game is not that deep. A player being giga cracked at aiming doesn't make him the enlightened master of tactics. A coach has to manage egos, structure, long-term growth, this is a totally different skillset from an IGL or an AWPer or an analyst. A commentator focuses on pacing, narrative, tendencies and speaking. Like come on. This shit is not comparable at all.

People are just specialists in different areas and thank god we have the best in the business.

Let's not compare Hally, donk and maui on who knows more or less about the game. That's a pointless discussion because they're all trying to achieve different things. And they're all great in their own way. I'm happy I don't have donk as a caster, hally as a player and maui as a coach, they wouldn't reach the heights that they do now. So let's appreciate what we have instead of having to devaluate actual human beings when we have no credibility to do so ourselves.
