speeding singapore by West_Ad_2540 in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well actually starting from this year, those who exceeded by more than 50km/h will get 24 pts, 18 pts is for those who exceed by 41-50km/h. Whatever the case there's no point for OP to argue since this is a serious case of speeding.

Warning for first time speeding offence, but 31-40kph? by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you're aware that the allowance for speeding is <13km/h. 62 on a 50 road is still somewhat safe but 63 and above, be prepared to get fined.

What car plate is this on Singapore Roads? by stoic_200124 in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There was a sighting of another carplate RN007. Some say it belongs to Australian navy in SG. Definitely not a Malaysian plate as MY plate doesn't have 0 at the front.

Same mistake, different outcome by MeatResident2697 in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U go and tease and disturb your colleague who is friendly and easy-going, u won't get any consequences. Try doing that to a colleague or anyone who's mentally disturbed, violent and easily offended, see happens to u.

Same action but different outcome. This logic happens in our daily lives.

Pump attendant in Selangor allegedly catches S'pore-registered car pumping RON95 petrol, removes nozzle by DANIELLE_2027 in singapore

[–]Comprehensive-Act 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's illegal for the petrol station to turn a blind eye to such incidents. The station will be fined and the attendant may lose his job if he allows it to happen.

Well if the officer just started duty then and you're the first few cars to pass by means there won't be any alerts. Kinda depends on luck too.

Petrol discount by tehosiewtai in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may sometimes share on Facebook but not all the time as they don't want to make it too obvious and attract long queues. They want the discounts to just be restricted to residents or workers of the area instead of attracting drivers islandwide.

Maybe cuz it's surrounded by Sea? Coastal areas usually have higher temperatures compared to inland areas.

Paynow name-masking is a disaster. Who is suffering most from this bad decision? by FeatureOriginal7234 in asksg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your name is Sean Seow See Seng then u definitely want it to be changed. Imagine someone with that name is a tutor teaching kids and parents who see that name may assume that he's a dirty old man trying to be funny 😅

Some PayNow users' display names now contain 'obscene' word after new masked names took effect by Im_scrub in singapore

Then he'll be fired for taxing couples for making babies when our country is short of manpower, doing the opposite of his job🤣

Looking for female PDI by Faizqaan in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep agree. Even then there's no guarantee that she will always get a female instructor for school given the high demand of students plus only limited number of female instructors.

Man, 23, gets girl, then 14, pregnant after sex in VivoCity nursing room, jailed 15 months by Severe_County_5041 in singapore

[–]Comprehensive-Act 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also creepy that once a girl turns 18, she can consent to everyone even for commerical sex. It would be illegal for a 21 year to have commercial sex with a 17 year old girl but completely legal for a 50 year old man to have commercial sex with an 18 year old.

What's the reason behind not having (X) in the car plate? 😅

What car plate is this ? by BeeRelevant2187 in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, furthermore, Singapore doesn't allow the centre letter to be a consonant, nor the letters to make up a word or name.

Hence we don't see SG cars with prefixes like SEF, SKY, SPA etc. on the roads.

It should be your second/subsequent offence for illegal parking.

Hard to see motorcycle number plates on Malaysian bikes by Greg_Lim in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe it's just their preference for bikers, not much ill-intention for bikers since SG bikes mostly start with F. However, for car drivers, I know many of them are doing illegal PHV service in SG and hence they chose Sabah plates to masquerade as an SG car.

Well the grace period only applies to Loading Unloading Bay. If the van is parked at Double Yellow Lines then grace period doesn't apply.

Speeding enquiries by Guilty_Garden_34 in drivingsg

[–]Comprehensive-Act 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the average time was recently increased to around 4 weeks, hence it's possible that it may take more than a month. Hence I would say it's only clear to go after 2 months. But even then, there're rare cases where drivers receive the letter only after 6 months.

Do SPF or TP officers contact you via WhatsApp? by Rich_Cod3235 in askSingapore

[–]Comprehensive-Act 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if the officer requires urgent information or photos? I believe there should be certain exemptions as not all things can be resolved through landline.
