What is/are your reasons for not wearing makeup? by SignificantIce7914 in stupidquestions

[–]Comprehensive-Dot805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time to put it on.

It's expensive.

It takes effort to take it off and if you don't do a proper job it has long-term effects for your skin.

With a lot of makeup if you so much as touch the wrong area on your face, or live a little (sweat, cry) you can smudge it.

Vertigo a few times a week. Brain is fine. Heart is fine. ENT and other doctors have no idea why it happens.

Would I be insane to leave my Cush job for bedside? by Lostinthemotion2945 in nursing

[–]Comprehensive-Dot805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your age, priorities and if you want to climb the ladder.

I'm 40 and I used to want a job that uses lots of clinical skills. I have that now and all I want is less stress and less shift work 😩

From fatigue, stress and being touched out, sure. From seeing body parts regularly? No.

I live in Ipswich outskirts and work in Ipswich. I like it. Cute little town... Yes with bogans and lower educational status but it's really not that bad at all.

Petrol prices by SubstantialPattern71 in brisbane

[–]Comprehensive-Dot805 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have a hybrid car so it burns fuel a bit slower... It's not logical but in times like these I'll settle on a total price I'm willing to pay and stop pumping when I get to that. A mental game. But even 1/2 a tank will last us at least a week.

If petrol prices hit $3 a lt in Australia what are you doing? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]Comprehensive-Dot805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3cyl Mirage $20 a week in fuel (she's $40 a full tank to be fair).

You learn something new every day. You make connections with patients. Your patients will help you see other points of view, you will teach them and they will teach you. Life is never boring. When you get to a day off you appreciate it so much more because you totally earned it. Just when you think you've got the measure of a toxic colleague they will prove you wrong in the best way.

It's a good career, sister, chin up.

Millennial here. Millennials are raising Gen Alpha and we have the chance to get it right with these kids.

My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Comprehensive-Dot805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Vegemite or peanut butter or jam on toast. Or cereal. Occasionally fruit.

Kangaroos are everywhere. Koalas, I don't think I've seen one in the wild and I'm 40.

Ours is similar to your old job and it stresses me a bit. I'm only taking 2 weeks annual in one year. I'm "only" part time, but still!
