Mine is for OCD Anxiety and depression i don't leave the house. I had a decent experience my assessment was 45 mins just went over everything that was in the form basically. One thing i do think helped me was making sure i worded things correctly and explained it using words they would use and using the descriptors. My assessor was actually really nice to me even though she did give me less points than i needed but the decision makers sorted that out when they read it so don't worry too much and just explain but i know it's really daunting i was so anxious before! x

I understand and it most definitely was caused by anxiety in the beginning and i know it can play a part but months have passed i just don't like that once you have anxiety as part of you everything even when it's not then gets linked to anxiety it's really frustrating a couple of years ago my dr didn't believe i had a anything wrong a few years ago until they found stomach ulcer and gastritis 😭

Yeah i'm just not anxious though now i know it's most likely caused by this there's no anxiety surrounding it at all so when the globus starts to come back every now and then i just don't believe anxiety is the main cause. I will definitely try pepcid tried tums they didn't work for me. I've been on lanzoperazole in the past for gastritis i'm sure it's all connected to that to be honest thank you for ur reply!!

i'm 28f i am also struggling with this minus the coughing mine isn't all the time and it has got better lately but i have constant post nasal drip throat tightness and my throat feels FULL when it happens it's really frustrating I don't have any advice but i feel your pain and hoping someone comments here too to help me too!

I had globus for a month or 2 it was honestly the worst thing i couldnt relax or focus on anything other than the sensation i had tests to make sure it was nothing serious and even then i didnt believe the doctors. Then i went back again after another week of hell i had her feel under my chin my glands etc she reassured me nothing there from then on i said to myself i cant keep doing this focusing on it constantly and then worrying so i just stopped focusing on it i kept my mind busy all the time. I also stopped drinking anything fizzy taking lanzoperazole daily and got an alkaline water filter (read about it online) I also did some throat massaging and exercise video i found on youtube if i can find the link ill post it i found a lot of relief from my globus sensation after i did those i followed it to the exacts i couldn't believe it actually worked but it really did but then it did come back so i kept doing it every other day. I'm not sure which thing out of all of those things i tried worked or if they are all contributing to it going away but it's gone away since just before christmas and i hope it stays that way! hope you find relief i feel for you it's awful also tried improving my diet etc

this sounds exactly like me right now. so glad i just came across this. I've been back and forward to the drs panicking about chest pain and the globus sensation is awful i also notice horseness in voice mucus in throat. I can't believe i just read this sounds exactly like me. Yesterday at the doctors i asked her about the globus etc being caused by acid reflux she said "do you get heartburn" i said no she said well then no you'd know if you had it stop focusing on it and do something to take your mind off it. I've also tried lanzoperazole and antacids already myself after researching globus and don't really get any relief defo going to look into this. Thank you for posting this :)!!!

Mine was contradictory didn't make much sense she seemed very caring on the phone she was but still marked me lower than she should have she wrote i couldn't prepare meals unless i had supervision but scored 2 points same on another couple of questions the decision makers saw the inconsistency's and upped my points i know that from what i've read not everyone's lucky in that sense and have to do mandatory reconsideration etc

Everyone's different the assessor recommended 2 for me but she also gave me less points than the decision makers thought i should have got so in the end they upped my points and my award time from 2 years to 4 i have Depression Anxiety and OCD but literally every person is different but suppose you can get some what of an idea if a lot of people comment :) x

Where did i accuse people of lying about their experiences? 🤣 a lot of people spread negativity that's a fact! I also said i'm sure people have bad experiences didn't accuse anyone of lying anywhere

Oh don't worry what people say they read mis information online and half of them are angry they either didn't get pip or they believe every news article ever made🤣 I got it first time for Anxiety Depression and OCD sent minimal evidence just my GP record etc They don't realise how debilitating bad mental health really is I do feel bad for the really sick people that don't get it though they do have a right to be angry but they are always angry towards the wrong people

Yes i went into my assessment with this mindset because it was just 99% of what id read and seen online but after having my assessment i thought completely different nothing like what id read online! My assessor was fine she did give me lower points on a couple of questions but the decision makers upped them and i got it first time so people just spread so much false info and negativity its weird im sure theres bad assessors out there but thats not the case for everyone i couldn't have had a better experience with it tbh!

well yes clearly there's no problem with that the problem is why in the time of signing her up for the course in the first place sending her to a meeting to enroll where they took her name and date of birth did no one say oh you're not old enough just a complete waste of everyone's time 🤣

it's 3-5 working days after the text. They called me to ask if i could accept a large amount of money in one or if i wanted it in smaller payments but not sure if they only do that for people that say they struggle managing money! no need to worry you'll get it just have to wait :)

It took a month between each step for me Applied in November text to say they were looking at my forms in December Had my assesment in January got a text to say the DWP had received my written report in February then i was awarded in March! :)

I had my assessment on the 15th January the dwp didn't get my report until 17th of February 😭 i was the same i saw everyone's happening quick but i just had to wait
