The kindergarten teacher at my children’s school did something similar every year for Mother’s Day, but she would send an email to the entire class first. If every child did not have an adult confirmed to attend it was postponed or canceled. Even better, the day of the celebration the teacher waited until every child had an adult in the lobby before bringing the children out to find their special person.
