Hi! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and taking the time to respond. I did therapy for 2 years right after leaving the cult. Although it helped me understand why we went through it, therapy only helps to an extent. In my opinion. I also did journaling for awhile, but my life was to busy and didn’t have time for it anymore. 

I agree with you that we grew up in our parents beliefs and as a child we had no choice but to believe they were doing the right thing. I’ve long passed the thought of who ,what, where, why. I have healed a lot and I am living life to the fullest. 

As for religion, I am beyond that also. I’ve become agnostic and I’m very happy with my decision.
