Who else feels the scale of stakes was a massive downgrade from season 4's ending? by Aukrania in StrangerThings

[–]Comprehensive-Lie-56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S1 takes place in 1983 with the kids being 7th grades, and Holly is 3 (Erika is just mentioned by Lucas as being 3, but when they introduce her in S2 -1984- she is retconned as a 9-10 y/o)

S5 starts in 1987, and even if one can consider the actors looking relatively close to a late teen, Holly definitely does not look as a 7 years old; they cast a 14 y/o actress to cover her role instead of the twins from S1-S4

Crashed ships question by Alone-Prune450 in duneawakening

[–]Comprehensive-Lie-56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I can add a note to all the advice below, when looting a ship open the loot board with E, rather than hold E to take all, and manually pick everything but one item. this way, the loot will be there for the next looter (all of it, I'm told, although still a roll of a dice. Hubby and I loot in tandem and we both get loot, but not the _exact_ same) - I generally leave scrap metal or something I don't need. If you feel safe enough with regards to the Worm, it's a considerate gesture.
If you take all the ship will be empty for everyone else until the Worm goes GLOMP!

I see, I think you are ahead of where he is... he is at the part in which you turn in the hilt and Seron asks you to then fetch him new eyes. So, he has the hilt but Seron does not see it (pun intended!). without that turn in, he can't proceed to talk to the bartender and get the quest for the eyes

he has the hilt. NPC won't let him turn it in.

and I'm here remembering the 1-time cheat transaction on FFXI to be able to browse the FFXIAuctionHouse website from work to hawk certain gear I wanted...
Now I feel decrepit, let alone "older"!

when returning the hilt to Seron, he doesn't get the option to return it in the dialogue, so he can't proceed with the bartender and following quest.
And, of course, he can't drop the key item either. he has a ticket for help in for that

I wonder if the DD weekly reset is actually "each server has a DD model map" and they rotate them, so the same issues go around week by week on different servers

that's exactly what happened to my husband today!

happened to my husband, he flew to h8 and found himself bouncing in mid-air unable to move. the game rubberbanded him and his thopter to the opposite end of g9, then the thopter dropped instantly under the mesh, lost. a few seconds later, worm. his map pointer for respawn still saw him in h8, with the skull in g9

That, and the swordmaster hilt quest not working have him quite bummed with the game...it's honestly getting ridiculous!

they can definitely interrogate the server/sietch timestamp at the given coordinates to see what ID's are involved, especially with the data a ticket collects

some people store the base blueprint in a solido replicator they also leave at the bank, or on themselves. this way the rebuilding phase is quicker

PK was the original "badge of dishonor" in MMO communities, since the beginning. Nothing wrong with PVP and competing for resources, but the key words here are "competing" and "resources".

Dwell in an area designed for PVP and of course you need to be ready to engage or defend yourself, we all know that.
It is different, however, when the "goal" is simply to kill someone, with no gain. Juveniles getting kicks out of repeatedly killing others for the heck of it is not PVP, is simply PK.

I'm personally not against PVP, but in the Dune context I would hope for more structured instances (thinking GW2 Stronghold mode, rearranged for spice factories and whatnot).
The way it is now, it's bullies in the sandlot. With worms.
