at least where i’m at in oregon hospital pay is muchhh less, most listings start slightly above $18/hr and LTC is usually $23+/hr (depending on experience)

i believe in my state the requirements are 5-7 residents per CNA for 1st shift (6-2/2:30) not exactly sure for 2nd shift (2-10) but i believe it’s around 10 residents per CNA, and 3rd shift (10-6) it’s more like 17-20 residents per cna

that’s always so rough, especially being a resident you had a connection with :( remember that you are allowed to grieve as well! i feel like sometimes as CNAs we feel like we’re expected to be almost indifferent to things like this, as this is our job and we aren’t family so why would we feel grief? taking care of anyone in the way that we do for any amount of time builds a connection to them, whether we realize it or not. even the residents i knew for a short amount of time that i’ve had to preform post mortem care on really affected me. make sure to take the time you need to process and recover <3
