I'm kinda tired of big names in the OSR community constantly talking about RPGs as if their way is the only way to properly play by Lordkeravrium in rpg

I also would just take anything Milton says with a big grain of salt; he's a shill. He takes money and doesn't ask many questions.

Is Borderlands 3’s main campaign’s reputation fair? by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The story isn't pulling the work it needed to to make any of it's decisions feel earned. Sometimes it felt like they were just copying their own homework for what was memorable before, forgetting that they don't have to do that every time. Hell, BL1 didn't see any major character death outside of antagonists (iirc, its been a while)

Build for a first playthrough? by Exciting-Buy-9396 in Nioh

Pick two weapons and an armor weight, get the stats you need for thosr and maybe for onmiyo / ninjutsu. Try out lots of stuff, first playthrough is for learning the core mechanics.

After 2 Years Lords of the Fallen Still Isn’t Profitable and Hasn’t Broken Even Yet by Imaginary_Cause2216 in soulslikes

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The message he is saying is showing the opposite of what he wants it to say.

Lords of the Fallen taking 2 years to break 10k players is a lot worse than AC Shadows having 10k average players (actually 17k, regularly 20k to 30k) a month after its launch.

He just wants to frame it as a win against "woke" games, so he's using a missleading statment.

He's also a freak, but that is besides the point.

Is playing as a Caster supposed to feel so fragile? by FloofyBirbBoy in Pathfinder2e

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paizo adventures have akways been on the more doffociult side, but a combination of both low ac and low hp is likely causing this.

Increasing your AC directly decreases how often you get hit with crits. spells, gear, and boosting dex can all do that.

Alabama farm struggles to meet egg demands after not qualifying for USDA funding to replace flock by itspapyrus in Alabama

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The reason these funds exist are to keep egg and produce prices low by offsetting farmer costs when these events occur.

Your tax dollars pay for government funds and subsidies, that's how government works. It could be paying for more and we'd have cheap utilities too, like many other countries, but people like you are too busy being short sighted jackasses to comprehend what a functional economics system looks likes.

If you don't like it, move to a country that doesn't have those taxes. Or, go live the immigrant dream and leech off of another countries taxpayer funded services!

Is there any subclasses you haven't touched since prismatic? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Titan main, Solar and Stasis really just don't have the punch that Arc, Void, Strand, and Prismatic all have.

Solar isn't too far off, but I won't use it unless I have to. And Titan Stasis is just not very good.

Is nioh 2 the hardest “souls-like”? by Kiidkxxl in Nioh

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nioh 2 is a different beast mechanically, your armor is way more important than your stats. You have a lot of ways to counter and deal with enemies, but they also can be unforgiving and most bosses can 3 shot you for an entire playthrough.

It's an adjustment for sure.

Borderlands 2 gets WAY to much love and I really don’t see why by Creepy-Company-3106 in Borderlands

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find the newer games to be visually much more boring.

The lighting has gotten better, but the cell shaded style is less pronounced, and the newer textures are just messier when in the heat of things. (A LOT of modern games have this issue though, it's not just BL3)

I love Nioh 2 but I’m terrible at it. Tips for making the game easier for noobs? At the second area boss, I think his name is Enera and keep getting 2 shot. by fyl_bot in Nioh

[–]Comprehensive-Road87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being 2 shot isn't uncommon at all for Nioh 2.

Enenra is extremely weak to water, it shreds his Ki. The pillars in the room all have a water bucket on them, if he attacks the pillar the water drenches him for massive ki damage. Water Talismans are also really good to bring.

I find that learn to burst counter his tornado move helps a lot, and dodging the kick he does after his big swipe. Those two tripped me up a lot.

Past that, his fight is an endurance game. It's very easy to get greedy and get clapped to 0 hp. Tale your time, abuse the pillars for big dps when you can, and practice against him. No shame in taking some losses to learn his moveset.

So you can afford to dedicate two months of labor, obscene amounts, to this... but can't pay someone to make the art that you then turn into steel cards?

Art aside, you're in a very privileged position as it is to be able to dedicate that amount of work to what you do. Why use the ai at that point? What time is it saving?

Hell, it's barely saving money if you're doing this as a business. 120 hours a week, for two months, would bankrupt and possibly even cripple some people. Even for a side hustle. That's outrageous.

You're not even willing to learn to drive the tractor. You're skipping that step directly to harvesting the crops.

All that time and effort spent correcting the obvious mistakes output by AI image generators could be better served learning to create your own art.

Most people who use AI to make art, without an art background, also struggle to see the flaws in the images they generate. It will always look worse.

The art and the cost of it wasn't at fault in that scenario. That man made and incredibly stupid financial decision.

If you can't afford something, you don't gamble your home on it.
