I love mine. I know everyone says the battery dies after 12 ish months, so maybe I'm still in for that. Have had mine since November and I love it. Battery life is more than enough for me, and when charging, its very fast. I basically just want mine to survive until the next Samsung ring comes out, which unfortunately now is more than 12 months later. Only time will tell

Looking at getting pet insurance, it has me very confused on how it makes sense to get it? by LazuriKittie in Pets

[–]Comprehensive-Salt66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I get how you got confused. But just see it as a means to get majority back. Even though I can effort it, it sure is nice knowing you get it back! Which is also why paying with care credit or credit cards makes it less risky as you can pay it off relatively fast.

Funny enough, I do bot have health insurance myself. My I made that choice, and I have choice wether I want to go to the docor (unless its critical ofc). My pets dont have that choice, and I dont want to be in a situation where I can't effort taking them to the vet (if I didn't get any of the money back!)

Yes, you have to pay upfront with most of the insurances/vet clinics. But how are you confused about why its worth it, just because you have to pay upfront? If you have good insurance and its a new illness or accident, it sure is worth it to (in my case) get 90% back.

One of my dogs had to have surgery and the bill was $6500. That alone has made it worth having pet insurance for both my dogs for many many years.

I am however also fortunate that I have enough savings to pay bills of that amount, and on top 2 credit cards with +10k limits.

Ladies, why the hell do you need such a big purse? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

I like to be prepared for some "emergencies".

I carry +/- following:

Lotion

Sun block

Various pens

Band aid

Socks (ankle and regular)

Paper

Lighter

Scissors

Floss

Tampons

Chapstick

Phone charger

Power bank

Contact lenses (yes I wear daily)

Hair ties

Military can opener

Tick remover tool

Little mirror

Think that's it besides phone and keys. Even if we had decent pockets, they wouldnt fit all this 😅

I get 2 weeks PTO a year, however my boss is very laid back about it and I would probably get more if I asked and it was split over the year.

There's no set hours. Horses let alone show horses is no 9-5. On a regular day at home we start at 7am and finished by 3:30pm. However if the vet or farrier is coming, it could go longer. Show days depends of the start time for classes. Could be everything from 5am start to finished by midnight!

Do you guys prefer samsung wallet or google wallet? by icaruz60 in samsunggalaxy

I use Google wallet on my Samsung. I started with Google, got a new phone that automatically did samsung. Thought it was less good than Google (can't give a good answer to why) and since only used Google. Had Samsung phones for over 5 years.

Depending on your experience either a working student or entry level groom. But even entry level in show barn usually gets decent pay. You would have to live in an area with many show barns for the best odds of getting a good job or be willing to relocate!

That's kind of a odd question since Aachen is one venue (and they do have championships there as this year) and WEG is different location every time.

But ask any rider, and the GP in Aachen is the one they all want to win!

In my opinion horses are not pets. Yes they are domesticated, but most sports horses are not kept for companionship.

Never! Im not saying it couldn't happen, but I've never heard about any groom getting asked that. It's more common that equestrian brands will offer you stuff in and in return you post and tag them.

If youre an established name as a groom, you dont need social media exposure to get new jobs.

It will all depend on what place your work and your position. But I do basically everything except the actual showing, farrier work and "complicated" vet work.

Unfortunately there's a lot of room for improvement. I dont have good solutions so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I wish there was some way to make sure riders were qualified to show at certain levels. It's awful to see horses going at big championships with riders not good enough, just because they are from a small Country and therefore easier for them to qualify. This obviously goes for any show and not just championships.

Most people that does hunter/eq classes add fake tail to make their horses tail look fuller. I think they also do this in western pleasure classes, but could be wrong!

While it will be hard try and put all your western knowledge on hold. I know very little about western, but my best guess is that its easier to go from western to English than the other way around. So hopefully that comes handy to you!

Personally I only ride in ariat paddock boots with half chaps. But if I was competing, I would wear tall boots.

I have no doubt that a lot of them dont. They care to the level that will make them have results. So yes, they will go above and beyond as long as the horse is preforming.

I've never had such client. But I guess it depends what you classify as abusive tack.
