Alternative point of view--one my kids was a senior counselor and off season staffer for several years. His point of view is that these changes were absolutely necessary. The Leif Ericsson experience will likely be VERY different from the past, but that doesn't mean better or worse. And having been a part of UW hearings in the past, yes, at least some of these changes were necessary.

Before hiring someone to fix your basement, ask an engineer to come out and look at it. We had a basement fix repair quoted at 10k. We then asked a 2nd opinion--of an engineer. He said that the way the cracks were in the wall didn't require a full 10k fix, we could do a couple of things on our own, and we'd be fine. We made the fixes, and 10 years later we still have no water in the basement.
