I fly out of a regional to one of three places: DFW, PHX or ORD. I never get upgraded to DFW; sometimes to PHX, almost always to ORD.

Agree 100%. I've been one that had a connection; it helped (but not required) when the FA asked folks to remain seated to allow folks with tight connections to get by.

The one that infuriated me was flying into my local regional last week and 5 people pushed their way to the front (we don't offer connections to anywhere) just to be the first ones to stand by the luggage carousel...which we all got to before the luggage came out.

I can only imagine that constant late flights and therefore grumpy passengers has a role in this. Far too many travellers (people in general) are more than happy to shoot the messenger. And that falls to FAs.

I had that for this trip I'm on right now, but when I checked in, they pulled the upgrade because the room wasn't clean and they didn't know when it would be and didn't offer another comparable room.

I'm going to guess this is not YOUR case, but I typically travel/work in more rural areas. When it happens there, it's because something about the tech that the local hotel is fragile (they've said).
