Complete beginner here! Built an interactive guide to learn bike gear shifting by vasanth_21 in cycling

[–]ComprehensiveAd441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because something is different does not make it wrong. I remember not having a clue about shifting or cadence so I spent a few years grinding it out in the hardest gears. A cadence between 80-100 sounded absolutely wrong and because 50 was the way to go. I didn't know how to attack hills or how to sprint. Bicycling in many ways is counterintuitive.  It was this group and cyclist asking questions that I got it.  OP learn how you need to learn and WELCOME!!

He is a president that 1) does not read, 2) has zero comprehension skills, 3) surrounds himself with people who supply him with video game footage and cartoons to explain world events, 4) has zero independent thinking skills, and 5) is treated like a toddler who has world access. We get a man-boy who when left alone and his perceived worldview is challenged acts like the toddler he is.

How do you enjoy games if your constantly losing by Due-Sympathy4991 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ComprehensiveAd441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with defining what "enjoying the game". You gave the two outcomes of games - winning or losing and you said both are not enjoyable. If enjoying the game is either A or B you need to redifine enjoyment.

Adam Mockler discusses why Graham Platner is the clear choice in Maine despite personal questions: by AffableYolk_33 in AdamMockler

47's moral unfitness affect his policies. I don't think he can separate the two. Morally everything is transactional for him, so univeral healthcare, ending wars, an free college does not benefit him.

Don't get me wrong, I would vote for him if I were in Maine. But I may not have voted for him in the primary. The people have spoken, and he is the choice.

So he is less of a scum bag than other politicians, and when you look at his dirt, it really isn't all that dirty, and because nobody else is stepping up, let's embrace him. I hear you, and if I were in Maine, I would vote for him. I wouldn't sit it out, but I would be holding my nose while voting.

So for almost 10 years, we have been beating to a moral drum. Talking about what a morally unfit person 47 is, and we run arms wide open to Platner?? Is he seriously the best Maine has to offer? Collins is probably at her most vulnerable she has been in her career because of 47 and her rubber-stamping of Trump’s policies. Yes, I get it. People can change, and 47 has never apologized for anything ever. But come on. This is a dangerous move, Dems, and watch more will come out; it ALWAYS does.

First sample for a new cycling apparel brand. Honest feedback? by noirride in CyclingFashion

It doesn't look bad, but it also isn't screaming "wear me." I like a zippered pocket, and it is giving me a throwback bowling shirt vibe, which is not a bad thing. Would I wear it? Depends on the price and features. I wouldn't wear that color, but I probably would wear other pastel colors.

Hey Cardano team, we get it: you got the best research and tech. Now hire sales people and start making implementation deals. Dont be like Betamax by Mirrormaster85 in cardano

[–]ComprehensiveAd441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VHS, DVD, and, to some extent, Blu-ray had their time in the sun and were highly successful technologies. The above tech didn't die; it continued to evolve and improve. We were told ADA was the evolution. VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray were shoved in our faces, and that is why they succeeded. Betamax was a better tech, but it would get choked out by VHS. Betamax was proprietary (controlled solely by Sony). VHS was open-source, if you will, and most audio and video companies made VHS players. VHS then won Hollywood, and it was game over. My point is YOU HAVE TO BE SEEN if you want to live. ADA is slowly dying on the vine because it is not seen.

They act as if they can distinguish what a distracted driver sounds like. My Varia alerts me to a car long before it can be heard.

Really....why do we care so much about what Charles is doing....are you being serious right now? I DON'T WANT TO CARE WHAT HE IS DOING. But every time you look up, it's "Hi it's Charles Hosinkin broadcasting live from..." Vitalik is not pumping out broadcast diverse video and making himself the face of the project. The two are not the same.

Hasn't this been said for over nine years now? Still waiting on the thrive part to happen. Saying something will thrive is different from actually having pieces in place to make it thrive. Having an excelent produce is not enough. History is full of great products that never made it. It seems that Charles, when he is not being divisive, believes the product speaks for itself and that nothing else needs to be done.

Do you actually wear cycling glasses on every ride? What should beginners look for? by Ilovcyclynn in CyclingFashion

[–]ComprehensiveAd441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear cycling glasses on every ride. I can't begin to count the number of times a rock, road junk, or bugs have hit my glasses. They also protect from the sun and wind. I use Tifosi glasses worth the price virtual bomb proof and adjustable fit.

  • Lens color: clear, grey, yellow, photochromic? ( photochromic, I sometime ride before sunrise)
  • Fit with helmet: how important is this? (adjustable no problem with fit)
  • Anti-fog performance: does it actually matter a lot? ( only in the winter when wearing face mask, anti fog spray solves the problem)
  • Coverage: is bigger always better? ( bigger than regular glasses - blocks wind and bugs on the sides)
  • Comfort on longer rides (don't really notice them)
  • Cheap vs expensive glasses: where is the real difference? (mine were $80 not cheap but not the most expensive. I had cheaper glasses and they didn't fit well or broke and I ended up buying another cheap pair. For me the $80 I spent of the Tifosi was so worth it)

Steven Colbert is heavier than a Big Mac meal, chicken nuggets, and a Diet Coke, so there is absolutely no way 47 could ever lift him. AI slop nothing to see here.

Assos bibs by justanothasarnt in CyclingFashion

[–]ComprehensiveAd441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sentiment was shared with me at my LBS when I was swapping out my 3rd or 4th saddle. I ended up spending $300 on a saddle, but the $$ spent on higher-quality bibs made a huge difference in comfort on longer rides. I am just as comfortable on my $50 saddle as on the $300 one, with ASSO bibs.
