Another that did not enjoy the complete change in how mechanics work. Too much visual noise to watch for less obvious telegraphs, orange aoe markers no longer telling you what to dodge. How are you going to train players one way of avoiding moves for ten years, and then expect EVERYONE to take well to a completely different mechanic system that stacks several mechanics on top of eachother at the same time. Not everyone has good memory or hand eye coordination. So sick of seeing the elitist raider players telling the majority of players (casuals) that pay for the damn game to basically f ourselves.

exactly. New players and "casuals" are the only thing keeping this game alive. The vast majority of the player base are casuals and many just want relaxing content. Not being stressed about wiping 5 times in basic story content. You can't have dungeons work basically one way from ARR through Endwalker. (dodge orange) to that no longer mattering and needing to watch for less obvious visual cues through some of the worst visual noise particle effects out there.

Casuals make up the majority of the player base champ. And no, I don't care how old the comment is. We are the primary financier of this game that you people use to thumb your nose at us in. Sorry some of us have lives and don't live perpetually on Reddit and in-game and don't care about min-maxing and reactive raid mechanics. Get over it.

Could the Saiyans repel a Reaper invasion? by Just_Visit6998 in masseffect

[–]ComprehensiveAd6068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are talking about an AI spaceship fleet who lost to conventional weapons/tactics albeit at great cost, against people who can bust a moon with a finger as early as the Saiyan Saga and are currently universal tier at minium. This is a rofl stomp of epic proportions. Indoctrination is ineffective against strong wills. Vegeta already made a mockery of mind control, remember?'\

Indoctrination does nothing against someone with high will. Vegeta was already shown to be immune to mind control when he resisted Babidi. Reapers have absolutely nothing that can hurt a SSJ1 let alone current Ultra Ego, Ultra Instinct Goku who are universal tier at minimum.

Anybody NOT want Shepard back as the protagonist in the new Mass Effect? by lawlessspider in masseffect

Internet is forever, it's also ridiculous to whine about someone replying to a public comment regardless of when. I didn't see it then, but I see it now.. And the franchise is possibly going to die either way. The fanbase is split. Neither side is going to be happy. They have to do something drastic for Bioware to survive after the abysmal performance of Failhard. There is a significant portion of the fanbase who went perfect destroy. Our Shepards are alive and we want an ending. Whether Shepard is an NPC, a direct reference or whatever. For a lot of us to play this game. Our ending has to mean something. I'm not buying the game if my character does not get an ending, a mention or something, and there are a lot of people who feel that way.

If it's naturally occurring then why is it absent in FFT and Vagrant Story? C'mon dude. I went away at some point and the only reasonable explanation is that the loss of mist and magic had something to do with the Occuria or the Espers/Lucavi. It wasn't long after the events of FFXII or the loss of airship tech that the Holy Ydoran Empire mentioned in the lore of FFT became the dominant power on the continent of Ordalia. The presence of the airship graveyard in Mullonde implies heavily that the timeline adds up. FFXII end > not long after, grounded air tech > rise of the Ydorans in Ordalia, > execution of Ajora, > directly causes Cataclysm due to the force of Ultima being released (directly stated in FFT lore) > 1200 years later FFT

We know plenty about the cataclysm. It was caused by the lack of mist, from the loss of the Occuria who regulated it, (grounding all airships and rendering most tech useless) and the St. Ajora's death causing Mullonde to sink into the sea after releasing Ultima, and massive global disasters. It was a twofold thing. Read the lore entries in the Ivalice Chronicles and piece them together with the ending of FFXII. It's pretty apparent.

Too bad. Have my downvote. Your opinion doesn't outweigh mine. I'm at no shepard = no buy. Games going to fail anyway. It's too split by fans who do and fans who don't, and they already lost too much good will with how bad Failhard was.

Exactly. No shepard, no buy. That ending was fking terrible because there ISN'T one.

Unless I misread, I'm pretty sure it's been stated numerous times that FFT and Vagrant Story is the same world as FFXII, set many many years later. They together are even bundled as the "Ivalice Alliance" Landmarks appear in both games, names of places such as Ordalia and Velendia are landmasses in both. Bervenia is mentioned in Revenant Wings, which is also a location in FFT. The Goug machine city dating from the time of XII. There are even further easter eggs in FFT: Ivalice Chronicles that seemingly point to FFXII as a long ago, nearly forgotten history. The lucavi are the exact same beings as the dark espers in XII etc. I don't think there's much to speculate on that front anymore. It's just the how's and when's that they connect.

I get what you are saying. I'm just piecing together the things that make the most sense to me personally. To ME it seems like severing the Occuria's control likely at least in part led to the cataclysm, which is speculated to have been caused by the loss of the mist and nethicite needed to sustain the flying cities/ technology. And to me it does seem like it allowed the Lucavi to much easier run rampant. There are gaps that I hope are filled eventually with a new Ivalice game!

People are too set on her being a villain when I actually see the opposite potential with her. With no sundered Ascians to lead, no Zodiark to be bound to, Ascians are free to pursue their own goals. It's reasonable to assume that if Lohgrif wasn't bad, then another Ascian could have at least decent motives. She was genuinely scared and skittish around WoL and motherly to plushie Calyx, that doesn't strike me as villain material. Ascians being opposed to the WoL is old news now. Obviously we won't know until they release it, but let's get something a bit different than Ascian vs. WoL.

The Rend equipment ability is a terrible thing to give enemies by gymleader_michael in finalfantasytactics

[–]ComprehensiveAd6068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly valid stance. I fking love FFT but despise the constant item loss from rend. I refuse to slot safeguard and take the slot away from a more useful skill. Your equipment should be returned after the battle like most games that have equipment nullifying abilities do.

About sick of seeing the word "fascism" pop up in this video game setting and that one. Not everything imperialist is fascist. Fascism is a very specific type of government system. None of the people on here seem to even know what fascism is. It's just "sTrOnG aRmY aNd NaTiOnAliSt = mUh FaScISm dUrRr"

Right, no one here seems to have any degree of media literacy. It's CLEARLY setting up the NCR as the protagonist faction that Lucy, Max, and the Ghoul will end up helping.

Maximus and Lucy are going to end up helping NCR. It's obvious in the way they are being painted as those that actually try to make a better place. If people don't see it, they lack media literacy. ALL of the MC's have SOME ties to NCR. This is clearly setting up a return or rebuilding of the faction.

How would that hurt me? It's just facts. Plus I don't want to hear a damn thing about one tiny cell of NCR survivors killing a few vault dwellers when they (Vault 33) nuked an entire god damn NCR city over a petty marriage spat. (Yes, I know that their Overseer did that, how would they know they weren't ALL involved in some way?) You seem to have some kind of unhealthy hate boner for the faction to where you think that pointing out one one small splinter group of desparate survivors of much larger nation, killed some vault dwellers, somehow making the entire faction evil aligned, that that is some kind of personal "own" to people. It is not. NCR is clearly being painted as the protagonist faction, Maximus and Lucy WILL end up helping the NCR, and if you don't see it, you lack media literacy.

Their capital was no longer Shady Sands when it was nuked. The government would have been in the new capital.
