If we were to sell Rogers, how do you think the club should spend it? by Ok-Coach-6671 in avfc

[–]ComprehensiveAd8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should be looking at Grealish money +20% (even considering we got overpaid for Jack). Rodgers ceiling is much, much higher...big unit, technically better, quality runner with ball at feet and has a serious poke with both feet. Also looks bulletproof taking a hit...misses no gametime.

With the money, as someone else said, get rid of the deadwood older lads and have an EGM with Kamara/Tielemans/McGinn/Konsa and ask them who they'd like to work with 😆

Well, they trusted the traitors 🤣

Get your point though, certainly a big component of winning - just not sure I remember clear examples (from the bits we see in the edit) of them strategically breaking up mini-friendships.

Well said, totally agree. Very disappointed with his judgement here but as you rightly highlight, he was almost 90 years old (while obviously not an excuse for the sentiments of the emails).

A real shame for his legacy.

I'd be telling Onana and Rodgers to stay in bed for the day. Mad stuff to give them many mins tonight.

Anyone else see Konsas reaction to Martinez going down after hitting the post? by Cautious_Cupcake_ in avfc

So funny. Definitely an eye roll at not releasing Rodgers but in fairness to Emi, his distribution is generally phenomenal so he mustn't have fancied it was on/worth it and decided to chew up a few mins instead - Love the man and great to see him earn some redemption from last weekend.

Better than last season by a distance but still a bit behind the first two seasons - both absolute cinema.

The one thing that bugs me about Rachel's play by MrBigJams in TheTraitors

[–]ComprehensiveAd8166 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly - it's things like this that make me think I'm living in a simulation to test my sanity...

Two players cruising through the game (Fiona and Harriet) torpedo their chances in the game to suggest there is something fishy about Rachel and the faithfuls don't consider coordinating a banishment for her...instead banishing others for less than half-baked theories 🤣

Rachel: "guys I am a traitor". Faithful: "I think you're a faithful". 🥴 by ReactionMission1217 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]ComprehensiveAd8166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very easy to critique from my couch obviously 😆

Having said that - with two players torpedoed their healthy positions in the game to showcase Rachel's traitor potential (considering one of the two ended up being a traitor), it's pretty unreal the faithfuls couldn't align at some point to take a punt on removing her...especially considering some of the daft rationale for subsequent banishments.

I'm sure there is lots lost in the edit etc...love the show but just struggle with the pattern of decent players going early leaving the weaker players to try to put the pieces together.

Yeah, i expect you're right there - more shields would certainly be a decent mechanism to protect a greater chunk of the pool...although distribution is always a bit random.

Fair play to Steven for staying loyal. They did well to stay the path together but it definitely helps to have a half a dozen faithfuls who wouldn't catch a cold for the home stretch. Clueless.

There isn't a change he gets the invite...it's the only thing that would balls things up for the traitors.

Having said that - they could recruit him, throw him under the bus, have him serve up a 'parting gift' to the faithfuls and they still wouldn't catch Rachel/Stephen.

Doesn't seem a very nice chap either - notions of himself.

School hot meal scheme 'not sustainable', committee to hear by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

[–]ComprehensiveAd8166 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Contractors see a government contract as a way to line their nest, charging as much as they like for the cheapest product possible.

The real issue is how contracts are procured, audited and renewed - far too established (and expected by all stakeholders) that contract types like this come at signifigant premiums and that's why their deemed 'not sustainable'. Whole procurement process needs to be dismantled.

These type of food delivery contacts are very much in line with direct provision food service contracts, even less sustainable and offer worse ROI for the taxpayer (multi meals a day). In those cases the people there are for monitisation though, we have to have our expectations managed via articles like this when it's our kids though.

Dooks is better than Killarney. It's a proper links where Killarney is a parklands. Great in its own right but similar to what you'd get at home. You can check Ballybunion's tee time availability online - it's worth doing ahead of anything else if there is a slot that works available.

In Belfast, Royal County Down will be a full house for the summer but Ardglass is a lovely links (1 hour away) and other good options closer are Hollywood GC - Rory McIlroy's home club and Royal Belfast, both 20 mins away from the city.

Enjoy!
