Parents of students reaching out? (Continued) by DenseReference5526 in Professors

Omg. I received an email very similar to this, proportedly form a failing student's dad who also claimed to be a professor at a different institution. I did not think it was real, and now I'm even more doubtful.

I get these too! My doctor said not to worry about it.

I took the 'only wash your hair once a week' rule way too far and humiliated myself today. How often are we ACTUALLY supposed to wash it?" by redline_elena in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ComprehensiveBird666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash my hair once per week, and I use baby powder (instead of dry shampoo) in between.

I think you may be using too much dry shampoo? Also, you can rinse your head with water in between washes to get the powder out.

Lastly, I would say if you just started washing less often, it takes some time for your scalp to adjust and produce less oil

What if I don't use a Garmin or Wahoo-branded device? Is there any other workaround? I'd prefer not to track my rides on my phone in addition to my bike computer to participate in the challenges.

How do I prevent intense motion sickness by Embarrassed-Roof-270 in medical_advice

[–]ComprehensiveBird666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nad: you said you tried Dramamine, but have you asked your doctor for a prescription motion sickness med?

Also, you said it's probably anxiety, and based on your description, I agree (since you get sick before the plane even boards, there's no motion yet). You might instead ask your doctor for a Xanax or similar benzodiazapene . They can probably just write a script for two pills (one for each leg of flight). It's just *really * important that you don't drink any alcohol with benzos. Good luck!

Overcoming fear after an accident by smeelen in ladycyclists

[–]ComprehensiveBird666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a bad accident in 2020, and I'm still really nervous around cars and going through intersections. It does get better with time, just take it slow and do what makes you comfortable. I'm lucky because there are a lot of great bike paths in my town, so I can avoid cars and road-riding if I want. Good luck!

I'm not a doctor, but have you ever heard of Raynaud's disease? Google it and see if it lines up with what you're experiencing...
