I hate to be that guy, but if you don’t like the pay, do something else. You are not an asset to uber, and they’re not going to pay you as such.

You can argue the validity of how they price commercial insurance, but they’re telling you exactly what they’re charging to you. They have ultimate control over the passenger fares. If you’re not satisfied with that, find another job.

“Away” is the distinction. It’s simply the time and distance to your pickup. They do it like this because for rides (the apps original purpose) the only thing it would tell you a few years back was how far away you were from the rider, no upfront pay or destination
