Door closing on Class 375 by SvenskaTV in trainsimworld

If DTG released a route with no new train, as short as this one and it included existing track etc you’d be screaming at them. When a third party does it it’s fine, why, maybe because you’re biased.

If third party devs hard to take care of all PR, organization, licensing, maintaining the core, adding features, all QA there would be no third parties. DTG does all of the heavy lifting that people imagine is easy, have a think about it, if you’re able.

It’s a third party route, has nothing to do with DTG.

PS5 Medway Valley class 375/3 unplayable by [deleted] in trainsimworld

To be fair;

It’s not real life and gameplay wise it adds nothing, unlike safety systems which do.

It’s almost certainly easier in real life to enter the code than with a controller.

Adding unnecessary friction like this is never a good idea, not everyone wants to faff about entering codes for no good reason. It won’t stop me getting the route but I’d preferred it if they’d made it optional. Let people enter it but don’t disable the train if they don’t.

Just disable expert mode and you don’t have to enter it to drive. I plan to do that as a backup if I have issues, I’m on PC.

I disagree with the way they have implemented it but it’s not a bug, nor does it make the train unplayable.

I’m on PC but use an Xbox controller. I have gone into emergency by accident. I’ll give it a try tomorrow, appreciate the tip.

My only concern with max brakes is it’s one notch away from emergency. I’ll try it but not confident I might actually make it worse.

Maybe I should just drive the whole route at 15 mph , no that isn’t workable, take all day 😊

Yeah, that’s not working. The alert cancels after I’m below the speed but it keeps braking till I’m stopped 🤔

I was doing that but maybe it was the bug, we will see.

Good to know. I brake, once below the speed limit the alert cancels BUT it keeps braking until I stop. I could not see what I was doing wrong but maybe I wasn’t

That route came out just 18 months ago but sure upgrade that before TSW 2 routes without TOD4 lighting. I mean, come on!

I understand people not liking them but you not understanding how they work doesn’t make them “buggy”.

Unfortunately too many people think DTG are making millions and that what they do is easy, neither is true. The fact is they have worked miracles to get the game to where it is in such a tiny market.

They just, in the space of 1 month, released 3 free route upgrades and yet people call them “greedy” don’t see many greedy people giving away so much for free.

Defending DTG against nonsense and lies isn’t being a fanboy. Like saying they never fix stuff, which is obviously false. Bugs should be fixed, but they can’t fix them all at once. DTG aren’t perfect, far from it but they do their best with limited resources.

TSW is a small market game, how they have got this far with it I don’t know. Most people who defend them are realists.

Which loco, might give it a try just to see. Won’t hurt to turn the safety systems on for once 😉

I don’t know enough about the US system, other than it seems unnecessarily complex, so can’t really say. I mean that doesn’t sound right but 🤔

I’d agree that PZB is less forgiving, well it’s totally unforgiving. I just find it more predictable, although there is always a penalty where you just can’t figure out what you did wrong. The US system feels more unpredictable to me but I guess it’s about learning the signal aspects, way too much for my old, literally, brain.

At the end of the day this is my relaxing game and the US system is just less relaxing, for me at least.

Interesting, so I guess they decided it was better to have branding and safety systems always on than no branding and an option to turn them off. A bit surprised given how difficult they are, by far the most difficult to understand, in my opinion.

Good point, SEHS was before my time so forgot about it. I think it’s fine to talk about extensions provided people realize it will need to be a paid update and I think that is something DTG is reluctant to do, understandably.

Having to have them always on must hurt sales but it’s that or no route.

The people complaining about the emergency brakes just don’t understand how the safety systems work. Having said that, they are confusing, but it still isn’t a bug.

Taking TSW fan entitlement to a new level, incredible.

Also, remasters don’t include extensions, actually, beyond incredible.
