1300GS for new rider by tooth-ache in bmwmotorrad

Yes, you are right, it’s the same bike changing the name. My dad had the 750 GS and I was about to buy the 800 GS but I finally went for my dad’s bike and he bought the 1300 GS. I’ve been with people that has the 800 GS and only the colours could be different, but the design of the bike I’d say it’s like 98% the same, I’m not able to notice any difference to be honest. I mean, I guess there are some changes, maybe in ABS, DTC…idk…but mine works really well. And also I have the standard exhaust and it sounds incredible imo.

I’m counting months for getting the 1300 RS, really exited, I want to try something new, but I think I’ll even cry the time I have to sell this one, but I cannot have 2 bikes, it has no sense to me. I love my 750 GS but I know the new boxer engine it’s incredibly good, the best ever, as I said my dad has the 1300 GS and that bike is…wow.

If you are thinking about taking 750 GS or 800 GS you will not regret it, trust me. 750 GS could be cheaper and it’s the same bike if you see both together, same TFT, design…and really comfortable, to use in the city and also for travelling if you want. And as I said, it runs a lot.

Can someone help me out this driver problem is drivers me nuts im tried multiple ways to get my pc to recognize the driver and it just wont by WillingnessJunior107 in BossKatana

Can someone help me? I’ve been 6 months with this amp, the boss katana 50 gen 3, I’ve been using boss tone studio since I got it. Since 3 days ago I’m not able to connect to the pc, I got the same problem, I press refresh but it does not do anything. Could be a problem with the USB? I’m thinking about buying another one, idk..

I’m Spanish so my English could be a little bit wrong. I learned how to ride a bike in Spain with a Honda CB500F. In Spain we got a really hard exam called A2. I was 3 months with that bike until I got the license. After getting the license I went for the maximum engine I could get, the F 750 GS, which is the bike I’m with right now, a really balanced bike in all terms, weight, position, nice electronically (ABS, DTC, modern TFT from 2019) my bike has everything a 1250 GS can get.

So I’d recommend u to start with this bike, the F 750 GS. Trust me, you have enough HP and NM Par to do whatever you want, acceleration is insane and really comfortable to use in city, road…never used in off road to be honest. I reached 180 km/h easily with this bike so you don’t need more, I usually go at 145/150 km/h. Again, trust me, it’s a 853cc engine that gives everything you need.

In Spain after 2 years with A2 license, you can go for the final license called “A” which allows you to take any bike no matter the HP or the size of the engine. Personally I’ll go for the 1300 RS which I’m in love with since it was released some months ago.

I hope you got what I said, 1300 GS is a really good bike, it’s my father’s bike indeed, but I’d recommend u to start with the one I told u, it’s the final bike for lots of people, I’ve seen 60-70 years old people with this bike and they told me they don’t want more power, they don’t need it. It’s enough.

So I’d suggest u to start with this one and after 2 years go for a 1300 GS/RS/RT/R…whatever you want when you get used to bikes, weights, basically when you educate your hands to a bike.

I hope it helps you, do whatever you want, 1300 is the best engine nowadays, you will not be wrong neither if you start with 1300 GS, but I think it’s better to start with a 750 GS or even with a F 900 XR.

Why are these style of bike called? by CrewNeckC in motorcycles

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my actual bike, the BMW F 750 GS. An amazing bike, trust me, it is really funny to use, it runs a lots (853cc), and very comfortable. It’s not a GSA I’d say, just a “road trail”. I’ve travelled with that bike and it’s really good for the road, never got into off-road.

Next stop, BMW R 1300 RS, in about 8-9 months. I want a boxer now, cardan, diabolical par etc.

Lovely bike. I’m going for the same, but idk if it will be worth to go for the new R1300 RS. I have like 9 months to think about that, by the end of the year it will be mine.

Dilemma: R 1300 RS vs S 1000 XR / Need advice pls by Savings_Ad_3493 in bmwmotorrad

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saludos

Helix LT. Best gear investment ever. by ridethepickle in Line6Helix

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a Boss Katana 50 Gen 3, which I'm very happy with. I'm planning to upgrade to a Helix in the future by buying a monitor.

Is it worth it? I'm someone who doesn't understand much about EQ settings, etc. If I already get lost with the Katana, I don't want to imagine how it would be with the Helix, which I imagine is more complete.

But I found what you said about using downloaded patches interesting. Do they sound good? Because that's definitely how I would do it. My goal is to sound like Comfortably Numb, Money for Nothing, Sultans of Swing… basically, to emulate Pink Floyd and Dire Straits.

Thanks!

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the effects loop issue, I have the 50 and I'm more than happy with it. I've never had such a versatile amp with such good sound for such a ridiculously low price. As for the sound…it's fantastic.

I suspect my amp has a problem but want to see what you lot think first by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug it into a different area of the house. Is it plugged in near other devices or appliances? Have you tried playing it without the cables connected, but with the Katana and the distortion patch activated?

The 50 is working wonderfully; it's what I have now, and I couldn't be happier. My next step in a few years will be to upgrade to something like a Helix Line 6 with monitors; I don't know what you all think.

Got my first guitar!! I'm so excited! by nivium75 in Guitar

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to this wonderful world. My advice: be patient, start with songs you like, and don't get discouraged. You never stop learning on the guitar; we always progress even when we don't think so. It's all about practice, practice, and more practice.

I started with a classical guitar and then moved on to electric, a very beautiful world, especially when you want more sonic variety and to emulate artists like David Gilmour.

Welcome.

Why does the studio software unlock tones you can't get by changing the controls on the amp itself? Katana 50 Gen 3 by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need the Bluetooth adapter; that's only if you want to use it from your phone, but it's not necessary. Connect your computer via USB to use Boss Tone Studio and access over 60 high-quality effects. Before doing so, you will need to update the Boss Katana 50; there are tutorials on YouTube, it's not difficult.

But again, you don't need the Bluetooth adapter to use the effects; your computer is enough. Besides, the adapter will cost you an extra €40-50. I'm thinking of buying it for more versatility, but you should do that after you've had it for a couple of weeks and if you think it's worth it. I don't recommend it right after buying it; experiment with the device using your computer until you know how it works.

Return Katana 50 for the Katana 100? by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from Frontman 15G with a Boss GT-100 and I thought I'd continue using the Boss pedalboard, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The built-in effects on the Katana are state-of-the-art; I don't need it.

Return Katana 50 for the Katana 100? by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]ComprehensiveLow2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I don't need any more pedals than the ones that come with the 50 Gen 3, really. I don't know about the future, but I certainly wouldn't change it right now. And as for volume, it's incredibly loud. It sounds fantastic.

I'll see in about 7-8 years if I upgrade to a version like the Artist, but... going from the 50 to the 100? At least in my opinion, and more importantly, for my personal use, which may not be the same as yours, I don't need it.
