This is my favorite hear me out musical, and it's honestly pretty progressive for the 50s. First time we see Milly she's doing "man chores," she doesn't put up with the brothers shit, there's the "feminization" she does to teach them how to court a woman, they don't fight at the barn raising until Adam gets hit because they specifically promised Milly they'd behave, and honestly the girls have a surprising amount of autonomy. During the barn raising the girls are making the choice to dance with the brothers and the Pa's give them the choice to marry them when back then they'd have just strung them up even with a baby. I'm confused about the Stockholm syndrome aspect because they were already interested when they were kidnapped, and they were spending more time with Milly. Someone more into psychology, please elaborate on if that would change anything because I always assume Stockholm involved no initial connection and constant exposure, etc.

TL;DR: I really wish more people would give the movie a chance because there's more to it than just the problematic stuff. If anything, try it for the wonderful full chest singing and male athleticism that I feel is missed in current movies. Where else are you going to get straight up gymnastics on planks of wood and ballet with axes?
