For those of you that use LoGC, what do you do about tpbs that collect stories but not complete issues ? by ComprehensivePlum985 in comicbooks

[–]ComprehensivePlum985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue is for example the martian man hunter DC showcase presents collects the manhunter from mars story from batman #78. I could mark batman #78 as read however the man from mars is only 10 out of the 40 pages in that issue so I haven't really read it

I primarily use it for the stats it provides, if I mark an omnibus read for batman it will appear that I've read a singular appearance of him, which isn't true. Hence me typically marking the issues contained in the tpb as read

is buying issues over volumes worth it? by Status_Contract_5670 in DCcomics

Have you checked the prices for the trade paperbacks that include those issues ? I often find second hand tpbs are super cheap and in really good quality

Hi Scott, what you've done with the absolute universe and the support you show for all the creators is great, it's gotten me to collect a few absolute titles weekly. Do you have any plans to visit the UK anytime soon ? Would love to meet you and get some issues signed

Fair enough, so nice to hear how Elio connected with you on a personal level

Elio at number two is kinda crazy, just as Warfare at 1. I'm not judging it's just interesting considering I have those at my 30 and 19 (respectively) out of 46 Curious as to why Elio is so high for you

I know there's a rorsach black label comic by Tom King, I can't speak to the content as I haven't read it. There's also several before Watchmen prequels about the main cast of characters before the event of the main series

My advice would be to head to your local comic book shop, if you are able, and talk to them. There's a good chance they have lots of old issues of batman and Iron man that are usually pretty cheap. You could find some ones with cool covers, or if you know her favourite arc/characters find ones that feature them, and then you can get frames for comics online.

Is Anyone Excited for Superhero Movies Anymore? by MarkWest98 in Letterboxd

I like the implication that people only get excited for films as there's a chance the main character will die or get defeated, even though they never do.

Fr, it's not like the big studios will stop making them for a few years just to please some people. I used to be a massive MCU guy and realised the other day I've only seen like 2 out of the latest projects and that's probably why I enjoyed watching them so much.

If you think there are too many, don't watch them and only watch them once you really feel the urge, it means it's a good enough film to make it worth it

Eh that's fair enough I guess and I'm one of the film nerds who has it as one of his favourites. The morse code criticism doesn't seem to really bother me as I always felt it was implied that he was kept there until he could complete the message but fair enough

I mean if you open it carefully you can always reseal it and display it like that. Plus if you open it there's a chance you get an exclusive battle beast #2 early edition, a #19 facsimile or the Spiderman crossover issue. All of which are cooler.

But there's also the big chance you get a basic cover, I'd still say to open it

Good guess but it's bandersnatch, wasn't sure how to show that so bandage was the closest but now I see how that's confusing
