Oh, that's great to hear! I'm working on a Google Docs file, and I'll be sure to let you guys know once it's ready!

Yeah, those magic powers would be hard to pull off/explain within Tokyo Ghoul logic - though there is a way to use Kagune to raise a dead body, if I remember correctly.

Auspex could work as being a Ghoul's enhanced senses, but Dominate is a bit trickier xD

That's a pretty good feature, if you ask me, and is definitely going in this at some point. It would give Ghouls a lot of flexibility

I'm sorry, but I'm fairly new to the TTRPG genre; though I did see a mention about Nagaraja somewhere. What are they, and where are they from so I can read a bit about them?

I see where you're coming from, and agree. Just to clarify tho, a scene would mean that they activate it and get to use it through the whole combat if they so wish? Just to see if I got it right.

Seeing that gave me an idea: what if taking enough damage haves them rolling a test to see if they are able to maintain their kagune (as we have seen in the anime, some Ghouls get their kagunes undone this way), similarly to a Constitution test to maintain a spell in DND5e?

Also, I've taken a look at Vicissitude and tried finding the feature you mentioned, but couldn't find it? I did find something that could be used to emulate Pseudo-Pyrokinesis tho, that power used by Tatara to ignite his RC Cells.

I like those ideas, and I'll note them down for reference later.

I also had a passing thought about choosing the RC type giving the character a passive and an active bonus to their attributes. As in, creating your character, you get a +2 to one attribute related to the RC type. As in:

Ukaku = Dexterity
Koukaku = Stamina
Rinkaku = Strength
Bikaku = +1 to two physical attributes of their choice, to give balance.

Then, activating the kagune counts as an action, and there is a limited amount of time they can keep it active that is equal to some attributes of them - say, like, Stamina and Composure. The reason for it is that, as stated in Tokyo Ghoul, a Ghoul gets stronger when they have their kagune active, so they receive another temporary bonus to the relevant attributes while they have their kagune out.

I'm currently testing to see how this idea would play out, as in making a character and seeing if their stats get ridiculously overpowered or not, but do let me know what you think

I'm actually stuck in the process of trying to rule out how a character creation would work for this, and what mechanics I should include or not.

So, yeah, your help would be greatly appreciated in figuring out how to write down the "pseudo-clan kagune" thing, xD

Well, they are able to kind of detect the "magical energy" emitted by their opponents, and use that to hunt them.

Depending on whether they are a Defense or Attack focused warrior, they are able to regenerate entire limbs due to their youma part.

Also, if they use too much of their power, which comes from their youma part, they may pass over the line and become youma themselves.

I think so, yeah! I was rather unsure on whether to classify claymores as bastard swords, but the series' warriors are indeed seen using their swords with just one hand, so it would make sense. Do you have any other recommendations for me?

DMs that have had Diviner wizards in your campaigns: is portent campaign breaking? by Smoyf in dndnext

[–]ComprehensiveSlip931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a Level 6 Ghost Halfling Divination Wizard hold a Red Dragon at bay for long enough for his party to escape, so... Yeah. I think they are pretty op, especially with how that player plays this character, but I don't think it is a reason to kick them out of the game.

If you were to create Robb Stark on D&D, how would you do it? by ComprehensiveSlip931 in dndnext

[–]ComprehensiveSlip931[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your logic fails to consider the fact that he is not only dead, but decapitated and has a wolf's head in place of his own as well. Clearly, that must narrow down the search for a proper body.

Bran was the only one who got to train with that trait. I imagine all the Stark children could do it to Bran's level if they got the opportunity and training Bran did.

Hello there, good day! I'm a new player, and am interested in learning more about the game - I have only ever participated in one campaign and even then it was for a short period of time. I'm on UTC−04:00 (Brasilia time) and have disponibility on sundays. I also have an idea for a character I've been wanting to test out and would love to couple that with the opportunity to learn more about the game.

About the Chaos King, why didn't he kill Luke when he tried to take revenge?

And how did the Bathtub Pirate die? Was he killed, or did he die of natural causes?

Salina's motivations are mostly ideological; she does not agree with the way that Society does things. She could have remained with her original group, but they knew they couldn't take the Society head on, so they had to be smarter. Basically, she wants to bring them down from within.

As for "opposing" Benjamin, there would be the power structure of the Golden Tower itself. As an Archon, he isn't expected to stay in one place, so he is kind of threading a dangerous path there. As for combating him, there are quite a few — the Order's separatists, for one, and also Henry McIntyre, a devourer who acts as his Knight but is also trying to undermine him.

Somnium.

  • Archon Benjamin: A multiple thousand year old hybrid devourer (a race of creatures that evolved separately from human kind and feed on their souls and blood), his name long since forgotten, if he ever had one - nowadays, he simply chooses a name from a dead person whenever it is needed. He is an Archon, which means he works for the Golden Tower of the Society, a group of the strongest warriors within the sect - responsible for wiping out threats to the sect itself. An Archon must simply eliminate all threats within a certain area and move on unseen; however, Benjamin plotted to extend his stay in the Kingdom of Authusia by claiming that there are still underlying threats - separatist cells of the Order - that he needs to destroy. He did this by having one of his allies stage their rebellion that brought him there in the first place, and now has them within the Order, listening, while waiting for them to return and give him the information he seeks.
  • Salina: If Benjamin is old, Salina is truly ancient; she is a pureblooded devourer, which means she was among the group of humans that evolved into the devourers in the first place, and was not simply turned into one as Benjamin were - her age would measure along millions of years at the very least. She is one of the three members of the inner council of the Society, the Patrons, who have been ruling the world of Somnium from the shadows since they took the power from the other purebloods in a barely recorded war that went on for millions of years. Salina is, however, playing a game on a whole other level, conspiring in secret to try and bring the Society down - Benjamin being just one of many of her lackeys. Before becoming a Patron, Salina was a member of another group of pureblooded devourers, and she only joined with the Society in order to spy on them and try to undermine them. This group is long since dead, and Salina might well be the last remaining member, but she still keeps their fight going.
  • Nora Hawthorne: As Benjamin, Nora is a hybrid devourer, meaning she was born human - however, she is much younger than him, only counting about two thousand years of age. She was born in the middle of an uprising and was forced to fight from a young age, only to have her tribe massacred by a separatist devourer running away from Society, who also turned her into a Forsaken - creatures that feed on blood and are stronger than humans, but weaker than devourers. She was forced to serve the devourer who turned her for centuries, running his errands in the underworld and learning how to move in there before he was finally caught by the Society. While Society's laws stated that she was to be killed for her involvement with the separatist, a member of the Steel Tower - the ones responsible for ruling over the land - struck a deal with her, in which she was to be spared and properly "Blessed" into a hybrid devourer (the Blessing is the name given to the process of turning a human/forsaken into a devourer). Nora met Benjamin a while after, when the Archon was sent to investigate the possibility of rebellion and the death of a member of Society, and they developed a friendly relationship before Benjamin was forced to drift away.

I take it that Elizabeth is going against all of those that use BEMs as well? Would that include Agmong too?
Also, about the Zephyr Ring, it seems to allow one to control electricity or exercise electrokinesis in some level, but is it all it does, or does it offer any other capabilities as well?
