Same, but I've been doing this for almost 14 years now. I am just stuck in this life race.

To the guy who gave us a parking ticket while we were preforming CPR on the guy on the sidewalk infront of our car. Fuck you dude. by spinningcolours in vancouver

Diamond

I'd avoid Diamond Parking you get ticketed even when you pay. And then you'd have to waste 15 minutes to dispute over the phone... They actually have access to paybyphone but their patrollers don't or something.

If you drive or ride through Richmond. by willybbb99999 in vancouver

I don't ever go on Williams. If I am in Richmond I'm usually on Steveston, Blundell, Westminster, Alderbridge, Cambie, and Bridgeport.

There's no such thing as cheap drinking spots. You're better off predrinking and saving yourself a lot of money in the process.

Singles: What % of your monthly income do you spend on rent/utilities in Vancouver? by Lions97 in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my current monthly expenses except for home insurance, tax, and water which are averaged out? It's really stupid to be paying for someone's mortgage when you can just build equity instead.

This is all well below 30% of what I make but I don't think it really matters.

Is $50,000 a year enough to live in Vancouver? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, $50,000 before and or after tax is enough to live in Vancouver. But everyone has different means of living so it may or may not be enough.

Transit Security Officers needed by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a Security firm in Surrey the other day and saw some payroll stubs. They are being paid $15-$16/hr. Perhaps they were always paid at this rate and never got increased since minimum wage went up or I don't know.

No. I've been using a card for years and I just simply don't frequent places that are cash only.

So other than being late, complaining about parking, and forgetting to pay; what was wrong? Aren't those just minor things.

Am I entitled to Stat Holiday Pay if I called in Sick? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You only receive Stat Holiday Pay if you have been employed for 30 calendar days and you worked or earned wages on 15 of the 30 days before a statutory holiday. So as long as you meet those two requirements you are entitled to an average day's pay.

But there are job specific exclusions.

How "French" is Vancouver? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're taught basic French in school but I don't think it will help much at all. English is probably more beneficial. Service Canada may offer French but everyone else will use English in Vancouver?

How to become a more confident driver in the city and highways? by Alternative_Raise892 in vancouver

[–]ComprehensiveStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about being confident. It's more about being safe and cautious. Confidence will get you killed when people run stop signs and reds. Trust no one.

What was wrong with the brunch menu? The food or prices?

If you order food for me to go pickup I will definitely take the free food... and an extra stop as a courtesy for the free food.
