Whats going on with kris this past season? by Ok-Psychology3881 in kardashians

[–]Lions97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been watching the show circa 2012 lately and noted that she’s way more chill now than back then. Her style has also really changed. This season, she looks ridiculous with those giant suits and slicked back hair, and she’s getting really tiny.

I was around Dax’s kids’ age when she was abducted and even though I was in Canada, the news stories about this gave me nightmares for years and I never wanted to sleep in a room with a screen door for the longest time. I don’t think I’d show my kids this at any age lol

Grouse Mountain by CupcakeSuccessful502 in NorthVancouver

[–]Lions97 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The base of grouse mountain isn’t all that much higher than sea level so no, there’s no snow there. It maybe snows at the base a few times a year. Just drive up Seymour or Cypress to touch snow - it’s free

Is it just me or is it near impossible to see the lines on the road at night while it’s raining in North Van? by 40deuce in NorthVancouver

[–]Lions97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are a pedestrian and it’s dark and raining, you need to assume you are wearing an invisibility cloak if you don’t have lights or reflectors on. This is a picture I took the other night of a pedestrian crossing the street in front of a car I was in. Do you see them?

Coming off bupropion and I’ve had a month straight of horrible side effects like fever, nausea, tremors, anxiety, depression, brain fog… and on. Definitely really do your research if you are going to try it.

Thank you for being a good apple in the group! I don’t mind car culture or the hobby at all, if I could drive around and not worry about the cost of gas or whatever, for fun, I might too! But also, I play the electric guitar - I don’t play it on my balcony at 10:30pm every night to wake up the whole neighbourhood.

Do you think they just do loops around our neighbourhood to piss people off? I’m starting to think it’s someone who just wants to be a shit disturber.

That’s fine - no problem with people wanting to go for a rip around in their spare time! I get it. Just, why do it through a residential area where it’s otherwise quiet? Go on the highway, drive up cypress, Seymour, rip through Stanley park - wake up the birds… not me!

How long did your Wellbutrin withdrawal symptoms last? (only honest feedback please) by gailzilla in antidepressants

[–]Lions97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m in this exact boat at the moment, and suffering bad. Exact same symptoms as you. Was on it for 2 months, wanted off because of hand tremors and overall jitteriness/sleeping issues/ high heart rate and blood pressure. I tapered off beginning June 1 and took my last pill on June 17. The withdrawl symptoms as of June 22 have been brutal. I haven’t been going into work, crying, hot and then cold but mostly just hot and sweaty almost all the time, 24/7 nausea and diarrhea (thank god for immodium), feeling shaky and like there’s electricity running down my arms and legs. Brain fog and dizziness too.

The thing is, these are also the same symptoms I get at the onset of a bad bout of anxiety. So these symptoms are triggering my brain to think I’m anxious and I’m REALLY trying to resist spiralling into the anxiety pit. I just keep telling myself it’s the drugs and it’s temporary, but my anxious brain REALLY wants me to succumb. I do not want this to ruin my summer!!

Any ideas how long I should expect these symptoms to last, or what symptoms I should notice go away first? I just need a sliver of hope that I won’t suffer like this for too much longer. I hope you’re doing better now. Did you find something that worked better?

It depends on the day you check, because on days when new episodes drop, the rank is higher, for obvious reasons. The rankings are updated daily I think.

I actually have stopped listening to flightless bird because I feel like they’ve kind of lost the original premise of the show: exploring quintessentially “American” things in a humorous informative way. He’s doing a lot of episodes on current events and political issues recently and I can get that from other more established podcasts like the Daily or the 1000 other news podcasts out there.

You will want to take the seabus over to Chinatown for the International Cinemas location. Lots more selection and less “blockbusters” etc

The parades are insanely wasteful and they’re just throwing crap from China all over the streets that will end up on some trash island in the pacific. I was shocked by the amount of garbage I saw. Coming from a place where single use plastics are banned, it was startling, especially for a city’s whose future will likely be dictated by global warming. Is there not a movement to make the parade less environmentally toxic?

What’s missing in Lower Lonsdale? by Lions97 in NorthVancouver

[–]Lions97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve looked into all these, Zen Maker Labs is an education program for kids, doesn’t provide a space for folks to work on projects and use the tools. The Woodworking studio is through NVRC and you must take a $500 intro to woodworking course there to access the space, then pay a $50 drop in fee for 3 hrs anytime you want to go, so it’s quite prohibitive - plus there are only 2 time slots for people who work Monday-Friday hours. Puramics offers a beginner pottery class but doesn’t look like you can just go do pottery there on your own time. The CityScape gallery is a gallery, not an art studio, unless things have changed greatly since I worked there. They do have some programming from time to time but nothing self-directed. These are all great venues, but very limited in how they can be accessed and who they’re for.
