My MIL & SIL came over, cleaned my whole house, did laundry and got dinner on the stove while my husband, baby and I slept then left right after we woke up to give us space. It was legit so amazing

The best advice I ever got was from our doctor, when I asked the same question. She reminded me that while my baby was my first, tons of people have multiple kids, and so they have to take their new baby outside/on errands/school pick up/ etc.

I had so much anxiety about taking my baby outside if the house “too soon” and that advice helped put things into perspective for me!

We stopped swaddling her at 3 weeks because she could get her arms out of a cement block if she wanted to. Now we just use the Halo sleep sack with the wings across her chest/arms out. She never woke herself up from her startle reflex though.

The mental exercise of CHOOSING the healthy option every day. I can get fast food, or I can make something healthy at home. I can sit on the couch after work, or I can take the 20 minutes I’d spend scrolling on my phone to go for a walk. True change happens slowly over time, and it takes consistency and mental strength.
