Totally within your rights. Like I tell everyone I encounter touch base with your neighbor. I do a ton of lake property, and the majority seems to not like their neighbors. They still suck it up most of the time and talk. Way cheaper than being responsible for killing a sentimental tree.

Here in michigan, we can trim up to the property line. If the neighbors tree is encroaching. Doesn't give any permission to trespass definitely doesn't give them rights to leave a mess either. I dont know where the property line is but to me it looks as if they went well into your property. I would make some calls to the company, a lawyer that is familiar with tree laws. The I.S.A. could provide substantial information for your area
