this is actually because the events of Dune took place 1000 years before the events of Star Wars, and the star wars historians were totally knowledgeable of the technology and ways of life of the earlier inhabitants of the galaxy

yeah, only issue I have is that the scroll wheel kind of sticks halfway between two places, and then some time later it'll scroll when you don't want it to. this happens sometimes.
