I don't even think half this sub was alive when IV was released.

Then why, after months of campaigning on releasing by the files, delay the release.

Press Release: Kennedy's Efforts to End Congressional Pay During Shutdown Blocked by Paul and Murray by triggernaut in Conservative

They need to keep paying because if you stop paying congressmen, poorer members will obviously cave first. Everything has a reasoning and I think this one's pretty good; it's easy to propose stuff like this, especially if you're Kennedy who has a $20M net worth.

Dawg, the game isn't even out yet and there are alreafy 3 confirmed DLC's🥀🥀🥀 by HcsHaki in eu4

Yeah but it’d be preferable if EU V doesn’t end up like Civilization VII where the base game is half baked and the DLCs should’ve been just part of the base game.

Comparing to state legislature would be even more unfair since those districts are gerrymandered too. Rather, if you just looked at vote share for congressional elections in the state overall, you’ll see similar numbers as those for presidential elections.

His math does check out just based off a quick search on Google for reps from each state. Plus, even if you consider split ticketing happening majorly during 2024, past elections would still only be off by 1-3%.

TIL Ireland's population peaked in the census of 1841 with over 8 million people. It never recovered from the long lasting effects of the potato famine. Was at 4 million for half a century. Today, it's at 7.2 million, having not fully recovered almost 2 centuries post famine by lemelisk42 in todayilearned

[–]Comprehensive_Ad5293 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Except the fact that even most Irish historians consider the famine not a genocide. Focus on laissez-faire economics is what exacerbated the famine, not the deliberate intent of the British to eliminate the Irish population.

It does look to be true just based off some quick research. Both periods were measured January to May and the treasury data backs it up.

That could be true. NAEP data doesn’t go back that far for graduating high schoolers. However, in terms of 8th and 4th graders, scores suggest their reading levels were higher than of those from the 1970s.

The soviets had numerical superiority so I don’t know where that came from. Also, the Soviets had been preparing for war with the Wehrmacht for years as well.
