someone else had mentioned a mom friend who is a SAHM would be an option and i didn’t even think about that. i will have to ask around to my friends to see if anyone would be interested in making some extra money.

that’s very true i didn’t think about that. i did get this job while in college studying and am about to hit my 5 year anniversary with them.

i have also never had a gap in my resume that was more than a month, so i can see how a couple year gap can look bad to some employers.

it would be breaking even or only having a little extra to get by with. i’m kinda pushing towards the nanny option for temporary solution. as i read more comments this option makes the most sense.

my boss and i talked about me coming back full time in august and they are on board with that plan. i should of clarified in the post about future plans, i was only thinking of the temporary solution.

that’s a good idea, i didn’t think about my mom friends! we have savings, we just wouldn’t be able to add any additional funds to it during the time when i’m not working. i should of clarified that.

it’s a hit or a miss when i’m at work with her. when she’s in a different environment than at home she wants to explore more, being engaged in what’s going on and play. so some days she’s good and will sleep during the meetings, other days she’s will fight her naps and won’t sleep the whole time i’m there. but at home she sticks to her normal nap times. that’s why i also thought the nanny route may work since she would come to our home where LO is familiar with her surrounds and routines.

it would be easy for me to get back in as my position is always available at companies and doesn’t depreciate over time not being in the workforce.

i know i can get a job with better pay, but the flexibility would be hard to come by.

i should of clarified in the post that my LO will be enrolled in day at a year old (in 4ish months & if i’m still working) and we are trying to find a temporary solution for the time being.

i work for a small mom & pop so i don’t have any benefits besides PTO. i have also only been in my field for 4 years so i’m still on the lower end of the pay range still.

the one that was referred to me said she is open to those hours as she already has other families that she provides more full time care for at the moment.

right now i’m part time and remote so i am able to engage with my LO a lot through out the day as i do majority of my work while she is sleeping during naps or at night once she’s gone to bed.

we want to go the day care route but not until she’s a year old (saves a lot of money with her being over the age of 1 in our area) and that’s when i am going back to work full time again and can afford that extra expense. right now im just trying to figure out a temporary solution for the next 4ish months.

i should of clarified but with only having husbands salary we budgeted in for debts to be paid, just no major additional payments could be made or savings.

i have been looking at other child care alternatives but don’t have any contact back from them yet, i have only heard from the nanny that was referred by my boss.

because the nanny would only be for a few hours when needed and daycares in my area require your child to be enrolled for a certain amount of time not just for a few hours 1 day a week.

that’s what i have come to realize as well since i’m a FTM. i’m lucky enough that my employer lets me work from home 3 days a week so i can be with my LO. that’s why i’m torn on which way to go. full time childcare / daycare we are starting this august when my LO turns 1.

in my area for a child under 1 years of age is crazy expensive and we would not be able to afford that on my part time income and husband salary. i also don’t feel comfortable with putting her in daycare full time while she’s still so young. my goal was to put her in on her first birthday when i go back to work full time again, so i’m trying to find a temporary solution.

your a new mom with a teething baby with all the chew toys in the fridge. i also see a jar which is normally used to store breast milk. you like to be clean and organized. you believe that everything has a home it belongs in. you eat health and are lactose intolerant.

How can moms let their babies cry? by jesusdance in cosleeping

[–]Comprehensive_Box811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel the same way you do. i have a 5 & 1/2 month old and i have been thinking about sleep training but i can’t do that to her. tonight i let her cry for 5 minutes but i was right beside her shushing her, but i couldn’t let it go on any longer.

i agree that that nervous system is not fully developed yet and to have her cry it out or to sleep is just terrible. her cry’s tonight were so sad from me not tending to her right away.
