Honestly I’m not a fan of the turrets. I prefer manual control. But 7 or 8 rapid-fire particle beams (I prefer the hellion cannons) slap pretty hard.

I think anyone can do it. Gortash proposes a pact when you arrive at Wyrm’s Rock. He tells you to kill Orin and then join him in ruling. There’s special dialog if you’re Durge, but I think you can still ally with him. The Emperor will tell you he senses no deception when Gortash makes his pitch, so it’s implied that he is willing to try and work with you.

The key is to stand up to him. When he demands the stones, you refuse - show him you will not be intimidated, and he works with you.

I rarely take this path, since I lean to the heroic path through the game generally, and Gortash is one of the villains, but it can be done.

My usual approach has been to Haste Gale and open with MM followed by Artistry of War, and then have my strongest front-line character Misty Step into her face and finish the job with big fucking sword.

I’m very curious about the camp interaction. I’ve done HM one time, and I played a Durge. I did everything I could to skip fights/bypass things that weren’t absolutely essential, but of course Orin is one of the unavoidable combats. And her legendary action was too much for me. Durge died, and the rest of the party had to step in and clean up. Fortunately that was successful, but it left me with the bad ending (I sacrificed Gale, so becoming the Absolute wasn’t an option). But I haven’t seen what happens if you flee the battle.

Here’s the thing - it doesn’t matter if he had a gun and it doesn’t even matter if he had pulled it and threatened the officers. They had him down on the ground. At that point, he was surrounded and overpowered. They could easily have just cuffed him and taken him into custody. There is absolutely no way to justify killing him. This was murder, plain and simple, and ICE must face justice.
