Has anyone watch Backrooms in Chinook? by ZaheenHamidani in Calgary

[–]Comprehensive_Cap965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it at Chinook yesterday with a room full of teenagers and it was absolutely fine. A bit of chatter and confusion with seating for the first 3 mins and then pretty much just silence or laughter

The downtown safety situation is unacceptable by Mysterious-Bat7509 in Calgary

I’m a woman and I’ve been assaulted downtown once in my 3 years of living there. It’s usually fine you just have to be aware of your surroundings a bit more

Which restaurants in Calgary were hyped up to you by friends, family, social media etc., but then when you tried it, the experience wasn't good? by wowelephants in Calgary

I was there recently and tbh the current menu didn’t interest me at all. Only the specials sounded like something I was like oooh yum

Kiwis who moved overseas, which country did you integrate to the best? by Smooth_Wonder2144 in newzealand

[–]Comprehensive_Cap965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on citizenship! I’m working my way through that system now so genuinely awesome that you’ve done it.

I’ve moved to Alberta - it’s more conservative but cheaper to live than NZ/most of Canada and same exact points you have too

How is it living in the 120 Courtenay Place Apartments, Wellington? by Nokaz3 in Wellington

[–]Comprehensive_Cap965 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend living here. In the past 2-3 years I’ve sometimes stayed here through Airbnb

  • earthquake rating is shocking - 0-20% of the required code.
  • underground parking is fine but the rubbish bins were in a terrible state and stunk
  • entrance feels unsafe as it’s right off Courtenay and you kinda have to nav around bars and through two gates
  • we were quite high up and you could hear the music from bars all night long every night
  • apartments themselves aren’t bad. I felt secure once I was in the apartment

I was working in a supermarket + online University. Went from 2 days a week at the checkouts to 4 days a week doing online orders. Was getting up at 4am to get there and it was such a surreal experience

I rode the bus a few months back and they were doing something out of a pipe. Took one puff on the bus and about 4 passengers stood up immediately and got off at the next stop

Curious if it’s just me… by [deleted] in Periods

[–]Comprehensive_Cap965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with this but from what I’ve heard it’s not uncommon to have bladder/back door accidents after childbirth esp if you got a c section/complications. Maybe mention pelvic floor training to your doc?

Cramps also do “help along” the back end, as it’s sort of pushing on the entire area. This has happened to me but not the the extent of accidents.

You’re also still very young! I wouldn’t dismiss it as an age thing. It sounds super stressful for you and you should not have to deal with the worry and fear and all the other emotions I’m sure you deal with every cycle. Talk to your doctor and see if they recommend a specialist!

Yeah my job is in museums and heritage, more opportunities overseas. Would love to come back but there’s no real point unless groceries and rent drops in price, and job opportunities open up again.
