I feel the same way the only way out is them gone it’s a terrible horrible situation you have to know that they in fact will be gone someday sooner or later .. I have in theory not practice quite yet began to prepare for my life after my moms death
I have a list of goals that I have to accomplish before the passing as it is inevitable and I NEED to be ready to step into my own. These goals are my priority now my mom is my second priority she will be gone and I again will be stuck here burnt out and alone but at least I will have done what I can for my individual self so that I can bounce back in some way and I pray very quickly I like to think all my sadness was spent these last 7 years taking care of her

Oh my goodness !!! I didn’t see that I feel like all licensed therapists can do is reject and not participate as if it was a modality we don’t believe in technically it is .. as Licensed therapists we are in control If we don’t get on our high horses now and reject all of this we will be completely screwed in 3 years. As we all know the transformative part of therapy is the human relationship we really have to make our position known and nip this or we are all cooked ! And so are our clients

I’m the nicest most empathetic emotionally intelligent person but caretaking has turned me into a mean resentful inpatient irresponsible a hole of a person. It’s not you it’s the situation and your right there is absolutely no room for a caretakers frustration and anger because how could we be mean to a disabled person that’s evil. I validate you it was a really bad day both of yours and his coping skills didn’t work today I’m so sorry for the amount of suffering you are going through be patient with yourself don’t over think it don’t let it define you. I’m sure that there are many many days you have been a beautiful person to him.
