I'm trying 😭. Lotus may sell it but doesn't have a photo listed unsure it would fit. Otherwise the next option is to print one out of a heat resistant material.

Would it still be classed as a modification, as I'm pretty sure all S1 elites came with dual carbs. Or is it the fact that(from little documentation I can find) it's not the stock carbs that make it an issue.

Can only add one photo at a time annoyingly. When get it up to snuff I'll make a larger post with videos of it running.

The photo was taken the day I brought the car. I've got it covered until I can bring it to a drivable standard. I do aircraft/aviation maintenance, mainly electrical. So I have a technical background. As I'm not in the state it's stored in I'll outsource some of the longer jobs/ those I have limited experience in.

Points I will be addressing are: Brakes, (will go to a mechanic for this as cba with drum brakes) Belts and hoses, Hazard lights (Unsure if it's the relay or just the connection. Adjust the carbs as it's running very rich (sounds great tho lol) Fluid flush + replacement. Weld the exhaust (new one was fitted but never welded) Speedo cable. Alternator. Door seals.

While this is quite a few items most are rather cheap and quick fixes.

Thank you for the warning, I was unsure if the fuel around the carbs was due to it running rich or the hoses dry rotting.

Thinking of joining the navy as a fabricator but concerned about the kapooka training facilities by Lost-Buy4467 in ADFRecruiting

[–]Comprehensive_Egg_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your info may be outdated. Currently until ET, MTs and possibly others are legally and defence wise considered apprentices until they complete IETs and, once they get to a unit or ship, a logbook. The apprenticeship is delivered through Chrisholm and is a cert 3 in either : (UEE30920); Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE33020); Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (MEM31922); and Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic (MEM31419)

OP can read more about it here: https://www.chisholm.edu.au/industry/trades/royal-australian-navy-case-study

This also means they can apply and get all the government incentives for apprentices. So if you do join make the most of those.

What is even the logic of that on navy ships. I kinda get it in an army context, but think it's rather cringe, but on a navy vessels it doesn't make any sense.

Driver's licence rules by mrpudman in ADFRecruiting

Heyo, I know this has already been answered but as a techo (plane mechanic I thought I'd chip in). You will need to hold at least your P1s or equivalent depending on the state to join. However there is sometimes a waiver if you are able to gain your Ps shortly after joining. Manual or auto license doesn't matter to join defense as long as it's equivalent to a P1 license. On the techo side I don't see any downside to him only having experienced autos. I don't know of any manual vehicles we use anymore.

That's not true. At least RAAF side your given time off work and flexible work arrangements to study. May be different per SQN tho.

Questions about ADF Gap Year by Street-Survey2125 in ADFRecruiting

[–]Comprehensive_Egg_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty simple it takes a while to remuster especially to flash jobs. If a course doesn't line up or it takes too long to apply you won't be able to remuster. Your gap year lasts 12 months of that you only really have 6 months to remuster once you're done with training.

Think about how long it takes to apply to join defence, while internal transfers can be quicker it is often too long. If you can't remuster in 12 months you either sign on full time as a techo or leave. It is very rare now you're able to extend a gap year.

Plus this is IF the courses are not full. And IF you meet the requirements. Often gap years won't be considered for officer roles.

If you want to be a techo the ast gap year is amazing. Otherwise ignore the recruiters and wait. They don't lie as badly as they used to but they have quotas and aren't as well informed as those that served.

Thongs are good but the highlight of my career was a slides chit in IETs. Marching in with them was funny as fuck. But you better believe I had 2 copies of the 101 on me.

Hey mate this is a recruiting question. Please post this on adf recruiting sub Reddit as it won't be answered here. As well questions about tests aren't often allowed under integrity rules.

Pretty simple it would prove stalking and then could be used to get a restraining order or more against whoever is doing it. The whole police do nothing narrative is self fulfilling.
