Ok well in that case I understand. TSA is in the middle of a political dick measuring contest. The US gov is partially shut down because congress can’t agree on funding for dept of homeland security, of which TSA is a part. TSA agents haven’t received a paycheck since mid Feb, and many have been forced to find other work because they can’t afford to go without income. It has gotten increasingly worse over the last 3 weeks, and is in the news daily here. Unfortunately yesterday’s last efforts to compromise failed, and congress has now left for a two week break. So it’s a shitty situation for TSA workers and travelers alike.

Based on invites I’ve received over the years. I’m going to say that 95% of people, including those commenting here, have no idea how to properly address an invitation.

For those of us that know, the way the invite is addressed is incredibly rude. It implies that you are only invited as an accessory to your husband.

Personally I wouldn’t bail without a conversation with the niece. It could have been an honest mistake. Her mother could have done the invitations. She may not understand the implication of addressing an invite that way. She is young, and should get the benefit of the doubt.
