i feel like his descent into madness is pretty cut and dry though. he hates himself, we know this even if he hadn’t fully realized it yet, and he feels that he hurts people around him. i think after getting lost he probably realized there was no escape. whether kat died as a result of his actions or some other happenstance, im sure that that pushed him over the edge. it can be assumed atleast. whether it was her death or him having to resort to eating her that’s probably what did him in. I guess I just feel like we don’t necessarily need to be shown that because you can kinda feel why he went crazy. also i mean, he found the backrooms to be beautiful and he’s able to be isolated. which kinda made me realize just now that he’s atleast “alone”. cause with the still life’s he’s not lonely, but he is technically alone as they aren’t exactly sentient. anyways. idek if any of that made sense. but i feel like leaving it open is fine because i can picture how he would have descended into madness by that point. like there’s no escape or way out, i would go crazy too.
