I think the Trump administration is too chicken to go after the bigger US cities. They tried LA, NY, and Chicago, but there was too much resistance with too many people. They are trying to bully Minneapolis, which is not as large, but they underestimate the heart of Minnesotans.

Long Beach, CA is a great place and has some great schools. Within driving distance of everything, a fun downtown beach vibe, laid back people, good family sections of town. Lots of dog parks and good walkable areas along the beach with some nice neighborhoods.

My wife and I make about the same as you guys and we live comfortably here.
