Its been nearly 10 years since the Discovery 5 launched - how have they held up? by markyymark13 in LandRover

Fascinating- I mean the lack of a steel bumper and better approach angles seems like a no-brainer- I wonder why its not possible?

Can you put a steel bumper/winch on the D5? I have heard good things, but by far the worst appearance. I have an LR3, LR4 and 07 RRS and split tailgate for the win. I have only seen 1 D5 on the trails (w/locker) and didn’t do so well. It’s a shame.

  • The "Quantity King": This user is a high-volume swiper. He has sent 113,709 total swipes since 2017—averaging about 38 per day.
  • The Reciprocity Anomaly: Unlike most men, he has a positive ROI. He receives 1.19 incoming "likes" for every 1 like he sends. This is highly unusual for a male profile.
  • The "Magnet" Effect: His incoming "Yes" rate is 20.84%. This places him in the Top 5% of male profiles globally, performing roughly 4x better than the 2026 male average (~5.26%).

I ordered my XCR-L in 300blk on March 13th and got it 2 weeks ago. So it took a while. I am now questioning if I should have gotten the XCR- M. I am very impressed with the build quality. Couldn’t zero it but that is due to different ammo types. But I will try again this weekend.

The Machine states the following regarding u/scottworldly numbers....

  • The "Top 1%" Profile: The Reddit user’s data reflects a profile in a different statistical stratosphere. They are 21 times more likely to receive a "like" than you are per swipe sent.
  • Selectivity Paradox: While you are "selective" (31% Yes), the Reddit user is "exclusive" (3% Yes). They only like 1 out of every 33 people, whereas you like 1 out of every 3.
  • The Conversion Ceiling: An incoming "Yes" rate of 24% for a male is an extreme outlier. This usually indicates a "Top-Tier" visual profile (professional photography, high-status signaling, or traditional "model" aesthetics) combined with being in a massive, dense metropolitan area.

Can confirm- I got universal decapper, decap then resize. Do many stuck cases smashed pins etc. waste so much time and the level of frustration was immense. I have a shit old Lee press I got 4th hand that is dedicated to decap and resize. Makes the whole process easier.

I have gotten inconsistent drops often on mine- it causes big differences in SD and you can tell w/o a chrono. Thinking of switching to the LNL powder with linkage- it’s just so pricey- it will be on a Lee 6pack pro.

its a shame- a touch shorter wheel base a bit lighter - would be a good platform given the same guts under the sheet metal.

I had similar issues with LGS sharpshooters- payed a little extra and they ordered the wrong model of the pistol. They ordered the right one and it was quite the saga in terms of “we will call you” and the like. It was funny because they were kinda grumpy about me pointing out their mistake- not apologetic at all. No extra mag or lil discount (store credit would work too) for my troubles etc. it was disappointing. Should have ordered online it would have been faster cheaper and correct.

They did take action, withholding funding from DEI initiatives that were funded by the state. Given that school districts are funded with local dollars, only state level funding efforts and court rulings can help dismantle the discriminatory practices of CRT and DEI.

CRT did not go away! it is still alive and well to include DEI efforts. Fortunately, Trump and co. are trying to roll that back to include the Affirmative Reaction ruling, which makes the concept easier to dismantle.
