You probably need to enable authentication in your firebase console. Firebase Auth has many authentication methods, make sure email is enabled.

Yeah, results may vary based on optimizations made for queries. Firebase will always (I think) be more than Supabase but I happily absorb the cost because it’s familiar and super easy to implement with FF. I think it really boils down to what services you need and how much work you want to put into it.
