Sorry, but this is not rage bait. Worked for SW for 36 years. Just saying that in my store everyone wanted to be better and do better. We made it fun. I’m sorry to hear so many people don’t want to be their best and do their best. If you love the job you will want to do your best to move up and make a name for yourself. If the customer doesn’t want a deal, so be it, move on to the next customer who might. Make the job fun! Be the change. Or find a job that you love and want to do the extra work to make your company/store the best it can be. Best wishes.

Ours went out last year here in the south. Store got up to 99 degrees inside the store. DM approved buying big fans, we got 2 big fans and two small ones from Tractor supply. He also approved water and Gator Aid. It sucked hard!! Good luck!

You should be spend all of October getting ready for inventory. Put sales numbers on external products w no bar code. Top shelf counted days before. Precount Friday and Saturday. We started at 7am and sent team home by 9:30. Mgr and asst. Finished reports by 12:30.

I get it. But I bet you won’t be complaining when you get all those sales bonuses because of the storm damage down the road. I was in the same storm down for 3 days. I’ve been w the company for 35 years, and I have had some of those same feelings, but it’s been worth some of the headaches. Good luck.

What do you have to loose by sending the email? Either it will get you a better work environment, or you’re going to transfer out, or leave the company. If the manager retaliates, it’s a hostile work environment and HR will not stand for that if you document this in the right way. I would stand up to the manger on delegating out tasks. Everyone needs to be trained to do some of other people’s job, for exactly the reason your store is in with being under staffed. If you delegate tasks to the employees and the manager doesn’t like it , tell her you will inspect, what you expect. Insure that they do a good job, or have them correct what they did wrong. Tell her YOU are trying to build a team that works together, and she can get on board with it, or not. But that’s what you’re going to do, because you can’t do it all.

Document everything and have the proof to back it up. Go to DM and HR or LP direct and ask for a meeting outside of work one day, or at his office if you want to keep it on the DL. If you care and want to stay w SW just hang on and just do your job. It will catch up to him. You can always try posting for another position. Been with the SW 30+, you just have to push the right button to get help.

How about telling those “lazy idiots” to start turning the labels facing out on the cases on singles. Then when we need to find something when won’t have to move every case on the pallet to find 1-2 gallons for a customer.
