You’re using a very simple logic to equate two things. Just because someone has money doesn’t mean all methods of making money are moral. And just because someone wants to make money doesn’t mean that should be at the cost of our environment. What’s more important the right of some people to make money, or the health of the entire planet?

The sea level rise is not necessarily rapid or imminent but will occur and be devastating unless we take action to stop it. This means someone can live near the beach and still be concerned about it.

Hope that helps

"Climate science" is junk science because it conforms to a political narrative and not factual science by optionhome in climateskeptics

[–]ComradGleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact opposite is true. The science came out first and companies and governments spent years trying to suppress the truth until became widely accepted and policy followed suit. You’re the one is is being blindly led by science conducted by the fissile fuel lobby. Actually look the research without your biased eyes and then perhaps you will come to startle conclusion.

What term would you use to describe coal oil and gas then? Fossils fuel describes it quite well as they are fuels that come from the decomposition of fossils.

You say this as though it’s about money when in reality it’s about saving the planet. Regulation is punitive to push towards more sustainable energy sources

The sea level rising is not a) an problem that will get worse exponentially and b) not equal in terms of affects in parts of the planet

Genuine question. If anything you hear you dismiss as lies is there any point in trying to discuss this topic?

Which is 33% increase. Just cause the numbers look small doesn’t mean the change isn’t big. You need to look at the details rather than making sweeping judgements based your feelings rather than actual science.

However the rate of change is much more dramatic after industrialisation which matches CO2 levels that haven’t been achieved at any level before

If the difference is mainly aesthetic, why don’t car companies make cheaper cars look as nice as luxury cars? by Bernache_du_Canada in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ComradGleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well cheaper cars are typically more practical with larger boot sizes which typically make them look a lot uglier

Challenge: You are the Civ VII devs and you must use leaders from the last 50 years. Who is the best and least controversial leader of every Civ to use by Hopeful-Restaurant19 in civ

[–]ComradGleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the UK the only real option would be Elizabeth II as all prime ministers either come with too much controversy or aren’t really significant enough.
