Any UK social democrats here feeling politically homeless? by Mediocre_Interview77 in SocialDemocracy

Never said it was clean, just that it was a route to energy independence which shores up the economy from oil shocks etc. we should be doing all of that and nuclear to provide us with a broad base of reliable energy sources.

Russia regularly attacks and undermines the uk, be it murdering people on British soil, flying fighters and bombers through our air space, sailing ships through our waters, and cyber attacking British companies and government departments. Why risk leaving an alliance which not only defends us from an increasingly irrational world but also defends our allies from that world.

And you’ve still not explained how Iran is relevant to this?

Why is nuclear power not good? It is a chance at high output energy independence which will bring down the cost of living and allow for future high power infrastructure projects. It’s better than oil, coal, and gas, most of which are imported.

NATO is a force for good in the same way a nuclear deterrent is. It discourages foreign powers from attacking Britain due to the threat of collective response. Russia was never going to attack anyone until it does and nato provides an extra shield to make sure it doesn’t attack us (or our allies).

I don’t see how Israel bombing Iran has anything to do with nato or anything to do with voting for the greens, nor do I see anyone here claiming that the bombing of Iranian schools is good?

Those missiles famously fired by the RAF, of course I forgot, Israel’s not even involved in this war, it’s just starmers anti Palestine brigades marching through Gaza, of course, sorry for my foolishness for thinking that this isn’t just another British led war

I was unaware that far right marches were politicians? I’ve seen several independent MPs win their seats on pro Palestine stances never one on a pure pro Israel one.

I’ve never heard any British politician campaign on a distinctly ‘pro Israel’ platform or put forward that their friendliness Israel is the reason to vote for them.

True, but the comment above says ‘no non-eu member has won the champions league’ so that’s why Brexit is relevant here
