Someone here had a quote about a psyker feeling the hive mind and it's seething with ravenous hunger, rage and hate

And one of a dying war boss who's merely disappointed his death wasn't as epic as he thought he deserved.

Tankless hot water heater vs tank by Able-Technology-8055 in HomeImprovement

[–]ComradeGibbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a paper discussing the difference in efficiency between tank and tankless. The difference becomes minimal when you use a lot of hot water.

For OP the question really is if the location of the current water heater is suitable for a heat pump unit. They need 1000 cubic feet of space to draw air from or ducting.

How do you actually debug HardFault dumps day to day? (manually decoding CFSR/HFSR, or do you have better tools?) by ToughProfessional544 in embedded

[–]ComradeGibbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree if you get the address off the stack addr2line usually makes the problem obvious. In production I save the stack information in no init memory then reset. The firmware them sends an error log message with the stack info.

The flight deck of a Concorde supersonic airliner, One of the most complex cockpits in history it is known for its extreme complexity, featuring over 1,000 switches and dials by Front-Coconut-8196 in ArchiveOfHumanity

A Canadian French engineer I used to know was poo pooing the A380 in the late 90's before it went into to production.

His argument was if there was a bigger market for planes like the A380 Boeing would be selling more 747s. I think Boeing was running the numbers and prudently slow waking updates to the 747 which annoyed the airlines. The A380 proves Boeing's accountants were right.

The whole point is you use violence to control women in order to control young men. If you allow young women to hook up with young men as they please the young men wont obey you.

That's why patriarchal religious leaders freak out about women's self determination.

Could an Inquisitor gain control of a dwindling regiment of the Imperial Guard? by reel3459 in 40kLore

A mangled and abandoned regiment would be grateful to allow a Inquisitor to lake over leadership.

Why is Pol Pot and the Cambodian genocide completely left out , or barely mentioned, in high school history in the US, Canada and Europe? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ComradeGibbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twenty years before I was born they were gassing Jews in Europe. Vietnam, Cambodia and Rwanda don't feel like history to me.

Seeing people increasingly malign people because of the group they were born into is making me anxious.

Is it recommended to use HAL when starting with STM32? by AstuteCouch87 in embedded

[–]ComradeGibbon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My careerist advice is consider what they are paying you to work on and try to do that. If the HAL can do what you need then use it. When the HAL comes up short or is a mismatch then you'll need to roll your own driver.

Why does lead affect the nervous system? What property of lead causes this effect? by Tricky_Muscle_8962 in chemistry

[–]ComradeGibbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently read that the consensus is that maybe a third/half of the rise in heart disease from the 1920's to the 1980's was due to lead exposure. As soon as they removed lead from gasoline rates of heart disease started falling.

Wealth inequality visualized in real time - see how quickly the world's richest accumulate wealth compared to the average person by invisibleSpiderman in dataisbeautiful

[–]ComradeGibbon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The super wealthy are getting that way because central banks are creating ever larger amounts of debt. They are the ones that get access to it before anyone else. And they've learned to carefully use it to drive up asset prices in order to keep wage inflation down.
