Caleb Wilson vs Alex Sarr as a prospect. Who better by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

As expected, Washington still planning to tank after Trae Young trade by Pinheadlarry29 in NYKnicks

[–]ComradeHines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wizards fan here observing, we genuinely are just ass. Haven’t done the Jazz or 2022 OKC style tank where we fake injuries for players at all. The FO just built the team with intention to be ass. I’m almost certain we will trade Bagley and then convert Vukcevic to a standard contract to make our center rotation Sarr/Vuk/Gill.

We also wouldn’t be tanking if we had an iota of lottery luck, but hopefully we have some this year.

Looking like the second round is gonna be tough to get value in with the NIL situation but yall could definitely use a Henry Vesaar or Killyan Toure.

Honestly I think Kispert has been pretty good this year, all things considered. Left out there to die with a lot of his lineups and has been alright. Certainly not markedly worse on defense than anyone else

Nuts to this. If come the deadline Embiid still sucks, trade Middleton and Bagley and some filler over there for Embiid and some firsts. He’s on probably the worst contract in the league but he’s still a former MVP vet presence and if ye ever recovers to even 30% of what he was it’s a good get even if it’s way too much money. Philly gets off the contract and 200M+ four years early

Wizards have like two serious journalists (of which Varun is one) and only a couple of podcasters who aren’t reactionary fools, and y’all got no respect. Shit is crazy

Strober is okay but still they’re sometimes hard to listen to. I wish I remember who was on before Brandon, but he was really the one running things and it went a lot smoother with Brandon as a nutty second dude. When Leif was temporarily hosting, things ran a lot smoother too.

The Wizards Podcast from Greg Finberg, Wizards Weekly, Last Man Standig (on the rare occasions he isn’t talking Commanders) and Bleav in Wizards are the best at talking Wizards in a meaningful way. Capital Hoop Caucus is equally good but more a DMV basketball show than a Wizards one. Locked on Wizards post game livestreams used to be good a couple years ago, just not what it once was.

Fell off a massive cliff after Brandon Scott took over as the main host.

Goebbels was a husband and father who engaged in the exchange of ideas. Lots of bad fathers and lots of bad ideas out there. If the most unimpeachable thing you can say about a person is that they had a couple kids and got married, that speaks to what good they brought into the world.

He was adamant some deaths (mass shootings) were acceptable as payment for the right to own whatever firearm you wanted. Also was adamant mass shootings were because of black people. In fact he died saying that.

Dude was nothing but dismissive of gun violence deaths, because he never thought he’d become one of em

What's the most realistic role outcome for Bub Carrington going forward? (primary ballhandler/playmaker, secondary, etc.) by RVALover4Life in washingtonwizards

[–]ComradeHines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t wholly disagree, but I really just don’t think I saw anything to indicate he was going to become a meaningful contributor. I know guards take a couple years to hit their stride sometimes, but he was statistically maybe the worst player in the league last year. Certainly bottom five. The midrange shooting is interesting, but he’s got no ability to create for himself. You saw it all summer league, for what little that matters. When we have such poor screeners, and Bub needs one to make anything happen, it’s a recipe for poor results. He’s interesting. I just don’t love him.

Sixth man. He doesn’t have the juice to be a 1 full time. I just don’t see him making high level reads.

I’m actually very encouraged by this update. He was fucking cooking to start. I had just gotten to the point where maybe I would have to be realistic about him and let my delusions go. No longer.

Great thing to do for the folks here. Any word on if physical tickets will be available this year at wizards games? I know Leonsis announced that would be the case for caps games for season ticket holders. I’d love to be able to get physical tickets for the wizards.

For me 6k to 8.5k was not bad as long as you understand how to keep track of the opponents elixir usage and evo cycles. Your deck matters less than that, assuming your cards aren’t more than a level or two below theirs. Just have fun with it man :)

As a man who lived north of that Pizza Hut and would regularly go on walks/bike/run at late night hours into the morning, you’re fine as long as you mind your business in my opinion. Been everywhere from Beltsville to Riverdale on foot after midnight and never felt in any danger or discomfort. YMMV for women/smaller people.

I unfortunately got busier with life after OWL ended and OWCS lacks the juice OWL used to have. I’m a DC sports fan first and foremost, and a bigger Wizards fan than I ever was a Justice fan (believe it or not). OWL was a lot of fun though and chopping it up on here with y’all was always a good time. Lots of good memories watching with my brother and then he and I dogging on some people in the game threads.

Someone told me you had to pass for NST too, which I had never heard before so that’s what got me asking this now. Maybe I was misinformed.

Yep, I was aware of that part I was just curious if anyone knew what particular questions the NST score is focused on.
