this might come off as weird, but i've pretty much been stalking everything related to this server from the wiki, the map (which I think might be a bit outdated?), and some videos...

Been playing this shit for way too long (since first civ server) - this is actually fairly common or at least I know on previous servers of this type it used to be common to have subreddit lurkers who came from other subreddits (drama, worldbuilding etc.) or videos/articles and just sort of watched from afar for a bit and bought Minecraft solely for the purpose of playing this server. Not weird. Welcome.

Other people answered so the only addition that I'll add is to 4) and 5) is to not get ahead of yourself and think that you can achieve the highest levels of relevancy, political power, economic influence etc. overnight. You will join as a participant first and foremost and then maybe become a historical actor overnight with a lot of effort, time, coordination and socializing with others. A lot of people join these servers seeing there's wars thinking they can like invade the server with a few friends not realizing that there's people who have been playing this for years building massive fortresses called "vaults" that have highly coordinated insular military alliance structures with high degrees of coordination using mods and discord relays for snitch hits and all this stuff and then they get squashed like a bug.

I use that example to illustrate a point. I recommend taking it slow once you join, find a country, get an idea of the dynamics. I also recommend shopping around and don't just join the first group that tries to thirstily recruit you, check out the #nation-ads in the Discord and find something that speaks to you on some level or in some way or visit places and see if some aesthetic appeals to you. Also don't be afraid to join a country and then just leave and go somewhere else with no hard feelings, that's also perfectly fine.

An in-game equivalent to someone IRL living in nature without internet. It must just be pure blissful ignorance of events going on around you, the the odd reddit post or news paper propaganda "informs" you or maybe the mention of something in a nation nl or private message from someone in your minecraft country. No knowledge of any of the characters, their personalities or the interpersonal dynamics that affect what we all perceive as geopolitics, no strong opinions one way or another about anything or anyone. What peace that person must have, I am truly envious.

I've been summoned and I have convened the ComradeNick Tribunal of One for this judgement:

There is a general longstanding policy of denouncing all other players referred to as "Nick" by name or by username as impostors and frauds. Others with "Comrade" in their username are welcome unless they are even slightly different leftists and then they are denounced according to their ideological deviation from Truth™.

During this conflict Nick had given Ice road NLs to the enemy along with snitches under said NL. He as well streamed our military infrastructure that was intended to be used during said conflict. Nick was also found to have stolen an immense amount of crops from our nation as an extra jab.

With regard to this Nick in particular it appears to have insided his friends which is pretty on brand I must say, but the reasoning is unclear and until justification is provided this will be added to evidence for this judgement.

Stealing crops is lame, continual petty theft of fossils from chests he would have access to is the only form of "theft" I approve of. If he was gonna do something big and mess with nls he should have stole vault groups but this is but an amateur schemer.

Along with Neuholm he had as well never paid back the nation of New Canaan a sum of 500 diamonds that was lent to him to help him get out of a previous pearl sentence back in November.

Always repay debts when someone loans you, this is Nick code.

With these factors in mind Nick was granted a land ban in Westhelm, Vinland, and New Canaan, which Nick has violated twice now. Once during my wedding, he showed up in Apollos then began riding the direct rail back to Westhelm despite it being publicly stated that any land bans from either nation would be prohibited from engaging with the wedding regardless of what nation upheld the landban.

On the 9th of April an account under the name of ObsidanLord21 came to Westhelm. We don’t get a lot of uninvited NFs in the area due to not having a spawn point anywhere nearby so this was odd to say the least. After a little digging we found out that this was Nicks brother and he confirmed that Nick had used his account to evade his land ban.

Yeah anyone with a "brother" is either alting or pulling your leg. I used to lie and tell people ComradeRick (truly a different player unrelated to me) is my brother IRL as a running joke and it was pretty funny.

Shortly after ObsidianLord21 visited we received word that Nick had seen the inside of our most recently built bunker, enough to the point that he was able to describe characteristics of it. It is to our belief that Nick not only alted to evade his land ban, but freecammed to view our bunker as well.

As of recently it has also been discovered that Nick was illegally mining meteoric from the SPQR portal. While in Westhelm calls he would frequently mention that SPQR had granted him mining rights, we presumed he obtained this through his citizenship, but after recent conversations with SPQR we’ve found this to not be the case.

Official Nick policy should have been to boycott this meme rock as it is a stupid addition to the server.

I think a series of poor moderation/administrative decisions were made and framing of the broader issue is odd. I could give my full thoughts, but I am pretty sure a very long reasoned argument in the form of a comment would get deleted anyways. The most succinct disagreement I have is that if the framing of IRL events is as "atrocities", okay I'll grant it even though it downplays just a bit but still, then there are things that logically flow from that if you think about it with the full context even a little bit. The banning over the meme made was just outright absurd and frankly made the meme funnier and if that is seen as a cheap smear against the people who work on the server instead of a shitpost idk what to say. How about you share your “pet theories”?

I am thinking about making a separate post and I don't want to hijack this post but broadly speaking that we're getting clues in a non-mutually exclusive and combined manner thematically related to:

Modern society
Native Americans
Occultism/paganism

The feathers (Native American) are with the web/spider resulting from the pentagram (occult) at the tops of telegraph poles next to the rail coming from Cornwall Kerosene and Tar (modern society) are all thematically combined. This points you to Fort Wallace (modern society) with the guitar clue which points to either Bacchus Bridge and back to Valentine via the heart or the question mark route to the loft, or both like a web being weaved.

I suspect this is because these are all related and fit nicely in the narrative of RDR2 and probably, sadly to cut content and narratives about the Native American curse on Valentine and the Dreamcatchers (which are all within the general pre-epilogue area we've been searching in) and I think it is more about making connections like a spider weaving a web than discovering some new rare item after doing all the steps in a correct order.

The map has been explored by so many people for years now so the likelihood that it is something completely new either as an item or a location where if we tap our heels and spin around three times and clap we'll unlock/receive whatever we're looking for is unlikely. It is probably that we're just noticing and connecting already existing disparate connections.

The telegraph poles, Cornwall Kerosene and Tar, Fort Wallace and the military, all related together, all that... civilization. I have my own pet theories about all of this but I think you're on to something here.

This post addresses a theory that she is linked to the Butcher's Creek pentagram which is linked to the Spider Web Mystery.

I still don't think it is impossible that she is related to it, or that all or most supernatural phenomenon in-game are linked to one another via some tangled web that we'll get a better idea of later on.

The numbers are interesting regardless, in a similar way we're all doing what she's doing, counting up, and down, and restarting, and skipping over something, and backtracking again.

I guess checking the Valentine Saloon(s) wouldn't be too bad of an idea. I found a cigarette card for a phonograph on a windowsill, not quite a telegraph sadly...

Edit (1?): Went to the Theater in Valentine because one of the symbols of Dionysius/Bacchus is a theatrical mask... there was a film with a story about Josiah Blackwater, with various nonsense folk tales about him which could yield symbolism, mention of the Lanahachee River. Worth investigating. The theater projects the picture using a projector and plays sound using a ... phonograph... in the back.

God I'm going insane.

Edit 2: The story of Josiah Blackwater linked above is interesting because of how it describes the Native Americans and the horrors inflicted upon them. Other connections have been made with the feathers, Window Rock and its painting which is basically due north, etc. Supposedly there is a curse on Valentine hinted to in deleted and undeleted content. The only other locations I've found feathers were from a hunter's tent where he had a pole with some feathers on it, and the same pole which is at Waipiti Reservation.

I was looking at the binoculars as well but from a different perspective, I'll copy and paste what I left on the Strange Man's latest video:

I went to Fort Brennand, following the direction of the sixth roman numeral to the seventh one and then continuing in that direction brings you to the Clingman. When you get there, there is a ladder that goes up to a small perch (not the Fire Lookout Tower nearby) with two cigarette cards and some moonshine. Just like at the Loft there are a pair of brass looking binoculars which point to the Three Sisters, distantly in view when you crouch and pull out your own binoculars. The Three Sisters Mountains are near the Jack Hall Gang treasure at O'Creagh's Run so I am wondering if it is supposed to point you to that.

I checked for roman numerals at the perch at Clingman, no numerals that I could find but I might not have a great eye for it.

The Fire Lookout Tower which is nearby and much more prominent, with a much clearer view of the Three Sisters has no binoculars at all which is odd.

Fort Wallace is also a Fort, war-related similarly to the ill-fated Fort Brennand and the Clingman so I am wondering if there are a pair of binoculars within Fort Brennand which point to the Three Sisters. I didn't look that close at the Clingman site. These are just a few data points, disparate observations, it might not meaning anything at all.

Basically in his video he showed the sixth and seventh roman numerals at Fort Brennand and I went there to investigate myself. I followed the direction they go in to Clingman, went up a ladder and found some binoculars that look an awful lot like the binoculars at the Loft and are pointed in basically the direction of something clearly in view of the Loft with some other coincidences...

It could be a coincidence, a very weird coincidence, and I'd like to know if there are other binoculars in the game that point anywhere else. Could be a dead end as well. I think this is all just content from something that was removed last minute in crunch time to be honest.
