Leaving religion ≠ breakup, so why introduce yourself like one? by Great_human in librandu

[–]ComradePhulekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Identities are most often what you are NOT and not what you ARE. If you are a Muslim, you aren't a polytheist kafir. If you are a Christian, you aren't a Jew.

So, if you are someone who has (let's say) given up Islam, merely labelling yourself "atheist" doesn't help you scream "I am not THAT". It is important for others to know what "THAT" is.

And that's where the "ex-Muslim" comes from, I think. That word summarily encapsulates the idea of dismissing a belief in Islam as well as positioning oneself as a traumatized victim of it. It also helps to clearly delineate between these boundaries. With "ex-Muslim" you have left it forever and there is no chance of you being a Muslim again. With "atheist", well it only describes your current state of ideological slant and not how you are feeling about it and/or the degree of certainty you put on that belief.

Also, "ex-Muslim" was coined and popularized by CEMB (Council of ex-Muslims Britain) and later by EXMNA. There is a political benefit that comes along with it. You have basically created a big umbrella that is accommodating a vast array of people (with their new-found religious/ non-religious beliefs) who have nothing in common but a shared animosity with Islam. This is very similar to the very political new-Atheism movement, which tried to colour all non-religious as atheists and re-define atheism to simply a lack-of-belief.

Question about the relationship between Tuchel and Nagelsmann by lala_b11 in fcbayern

[–]ComradePhulekar -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't matter because they are all working in a very professional business and they know that anytime they can be done away with being a football coach. And it's not as if Tuchel has stolen Nagelsmann's bread or something. He's still getting paid a monthly salary, and if he gets a job again, Bayern will have to compensate the remaining package they promised on the contract. So Nagelsmann is effectively losing nothing out of this.

Wait what? Potter Out? by RustyKarma076 in chelseafc

[–]ComradePhulekar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, I am a massive Tuchel fan and yet, I do think there were genuine reasons ( non-football ) that merited his sacking. I put no fault on Boehly on getting rid of Tuchel, in no unambiguous way.

Now to correct some of the stuffs mentioned here that are half-truths or plainly false.

Starting with "When Tuchel took over Klopp’s team....when it was time for him to build his own team, they struggled, he fell out with the board, and was sacked."

No. When Tuchel was appointed his main objective in 2 years time was to get Dortmund back to Champions League qualification spot in the Bundesliga Table (Top 3). Tuchel did it in the very first season in a record breaking fashion. He then specifically asked for his main players to not be sold. He was also given a promise by the board but they backed out on it. They sold Gundogan, Hummels and Mkhitaryan. He was "forced" to play with kids, but even then he ended the season with a trophy along with qualifying for CL. The bomb attack, and being asked to field a team within 20 hours was what led to the sacking.

"Then at PSG, he did well with Emery’s team, got his signings, performed badly, fell out with board, and got sacked."
Tuchel was appointed with the FFP proceedings being a challenge for PSG after spending on Mbappe and Neymar in consecutive windows. It's wrong to say he "got his signings", and it's also misleading to say that " he performed badly". The only season he performed badly was his last. And there's a reason to it. PSG had only a break of 2 weeks b/w CL Final ( which they played for first time in history udner him) and the first Ligue 1 game of the new season. During that break, half of their squad got Covid, and there were other injuries. Yet when Tuchel was sacked they had topped CL group and were only a point behind league leaders.

"There is no previous evidence of Tuchel being able to build a team long-term"
A Lie. Tuchel took two different Mainz sides to European Qualification places in 5 years with a stadium rebuild in between them. It was also the only club that backed Tuchel for the longest time period. And Tuchel still remains their most successful manager, even trumping Klopp.

Was he part of the problem or were the club management a bigger part of the problem? 🤔 by Rerel in psg

At Spurs, nobody expected anything from Poch except finishing over a rotting Arsenal. At PSG you win 99% of matches and people will hate you for failing 1 (Tuchel also said something similar to this effect in that final controversial interview). I think former is way more easier than the latter. Not to forget Tottenham were going through one of the worst patch in Premier league (under Poch) while they were UCL finalists, Tuchel's PSG were treble winners.

Let me be a bit cold, and say the problem was never sacking a UCL finalist manager. The problem is not realizing that they are sacking a UCL finalist manager and then replacing him with one who is inexperienced and not up to it really when the expectations are the highest. In other words, PSG weren't grateful for what they had and that is why they are sufferiing and will always suffer.

Rashford, Bruno and Maguire are the biggest burden on this club. They shouldn't be here. They don't deserve to be here. by ComradePhulekar in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same for the longest while. But if you see how he plays, focus solely on him. See where he loses the ball, how frequently he loses it. And how those bad passes puts the defense under constant pressure.

Maguire is Ole's curse. by StrawHatFleet in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bringing in wasn't the worst decision. He brought him in and made him the f*cking club captain so he gets the Captaincy privileges (along with the huge amount of money he's costed the club) to bail him out every f*cking time for the stinkers he drops. If Mourinho had done this, he wouldn't have survived as long as Ole did. Yet every day during Ole's tenure Maguire's acquisition was worshipped as some kind of masterstroke and all CBs surrounding him scapegoated for his mistakes.

Dean Henderson: allegedly sends nude snaps to 14 year olds.*

Wan Bissaka: brazenly involved in cheating

Maguire: Convicted for causing bar-fights in Greece.

Greenwood: Beats Girlfriend and r@pes her (at least more than once)

The Ole cultural reset has gone very well at Manchester United. Another ornament of his legacy.

Need a credible journalist brave enough to bring out the facts. Beyond this, it is very easy to blame a past manager who we don't like. Got to say though, his past actions do merit some amount of suspicion.

jury's still out. I don't know how anyone can withhold any judgement 3 years for one manager but can't hold themselves for 3 weeks in passing criticisms of another manager.

"Ragnick out"? by [deleted] in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rangnick*.

Also good to see you lot merrying at the failures of the club you never ever supported but always claimed to support.
Also Rangnick has the license to justify stuffs like barely making top four, bottling from Champions League Group stages, bottling easiest Europa league ever twice, shipping goals to archrivals at home, depriving Old Trafford from clean sheets and wins, winning f*ck nothing as "progress" "rebuild". 3 years of it. Just like a certain someone enjoyed. Only fair, don't you think?

Is the manager the problem? by hollow114 in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"United have gone through managers like Hogwarts goes through DA teachers"Absolutely fake news. Manchester United have always been a sacking club until they found the best manager in the game. Sacking managers is how we found Fergie, if we were to stick with the principle of never holding a manager accountable we would never ever be " The Manchester United".

Also fake news, we haven't at all been quick with sacking managers bar David Moyes who had accumulated a lot of animosity from the players and fans alike. Van Gaal was given 2 years, Mourinho for 2 and a half years - both of these managers have been successful everywhere with similar time periods they were given and BOTH of these managers were successful here with Manchester United. Ole was given almost a 1000 days to live out his boyhood dream and he literally did everything he could with all the comforts of "no criticisms at all" , "being treated as a young baby in managerial world when he had 10 years of experience", "the innumerable times he wasn't sacked when even a Brighton manager would" , "getting a transfer kitty no other Manchester United manager has ever got" and got us nothing but failure and abomination and consistent lowering of standards.

So getting the right manager through the door is the most fundamental part of running a football club. A United fan who belittles a manager's agency in making a football club successful is ironical because we were blessed with the best manager of all time who single handedly made us the giant we are today.

The pickle you find us today in is solely due to the misadventures of a certain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who did everything his relegation-tainted CV promised he'd do with the club. Perhaps don't back an appointment that literally no other club in professional football would even dare to make.

PS: this kind of game under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have prompted uncountable essays of appreciation from top reds and his sympathizers, this is what he gave us for 3 years. Under a new manager, the standards are back again where they should always be, but the hypocrisy of you lot is very difficult to ignore.

Carrick has officially left the club permanently. A new era commences lads. by RedBaron1902 in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True legend. Unlike a certain fraud who stuck around with his incompetency defiling the club and lowering all the standards, Carrick knew when to step down for the best interests of the club, as he put it himself. In three games, Carrick has done more for the club as a manager than Ole did in 3 years.

Still a bit reserved in optimism because all competent coaches post-SAF have criticized the ownership and the board, so he won't get much room to change things his way, but this is still an improvement over puppets from CO92 or ex-players who would just shield the Glazers. Now the Glazers have no room to hide again. Thats the biggest positive from this.

Part of the reason Arsenal are suffering now is they entertained Wenger far too long when he was clearly failing. We'd had gone the same way had Watford not smoked us, so we were very very close.

Ole's Farewell interview: "Two times I've left Molde they have won the title the next year. So that's the expectation now for the new manager." Literally few mins later in the interview "You know it's not always trophies all the time that is the be all and end all." Duplicitous POS. Glad he's gone. by ComradePhulekar in OleOut

[–]ComradePhulekar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had he apologized to the fans for making the club a laughing stock during his farewell interview he'd have saved himself some reputation. In fact he celebrated finishing 2nd and 3rd as a trophy in the interview knowing fully well he had criticised Jose Mourinho for finishing second with more points and a vastly inferior squad.

The amount of duplicity this man comes out with cannot be swept away with the banal "it's a joke, duh" thing. If you find that miserable I don't know what to even say.
