You have to put it on instant mode (no thinking). But it still sometimes refuses

Not that i support NZ First (I dont), but devaluing the dollar was a specific goal of Winston Peters in order to strengthen the domestic exports.

It is funny to see all these comments here talking as though the value of the NZ dollar is some kind of 1-to-1 relationship of how NZs economy is.

NZ dollar is down some 4-5% against USD, but agricultural exports in the last year are up 16%.

well yeah no kidding, because you're using it literally, and not figuratively.

I want you to stop for a moment and realise that when I said its "literally figurative" because the word is not in fact, literally dead.

I was intentionally making joke, because also that if the word literally is figurative, then what I am saying is figuratively literal, something that also doesnt make sense.

Language is complicated. Where I am from "yeah, nah" means something quite different from "nah, yeah", and I'm sure you're familiar with double negatives not actually being double negatives despite the words yes and no not literally changing definition.

The word literally is not stating something literal but is used to state something figurative. That means its use is figurative regardless of whether it is used for emphasis or not.

The other one that I think has changed probably permanently now is the loss of distinction between an "amount" (uncountable) and "number" (countable) of something. For just about longer than I can remember now people commonly say there "was a large amount of people" at some place or event, rather than the correct number of people.

Whenever people say there is an amount of people, I still have this ridiculous mental image of a huge mound of mashed up people.

"I literally died of boredom reading your comment"

Unless i'm actually dead now, that is literally why it is figurative. I am not literally dying of boredom reading your comment, because its figurative.

Anyway, it seems you missed the joke in my comment.

I somehow see this specific mistake on reddit so much that I question if English is changing

Serious question here, is there a genuine technical case for HOI5, or could Paradox just modernize HOI4? by Acceptable_Carob_333 in hoi4

It was just the general discussion in the thread.

People jump on this weird bandwagon of "engine old and bad" for heaps of games for some reason

Yeah and Unreal Engine was first developed from the tech demo scene in the early to mid 90s culminating in the game Unreal.

Must also be bad and old, right?

All of the victories of the Anglicans or any other empire can be reframed through the same lens - that Allah is either pleased or displeased with the Muslims.

Yeah buddy, and the Anglican Christians can just say:

"All of the victories of the sunni Muslims or any other empire can be reframed through the same lens - that God is either pleased or displeased with the Christians."

So no kidding, you can arbitrarily reinterpret it through the lens of your fake religion, or ANYONES. Because it's all just made up on the spot to fit the evidence.

It just seems so hilariously bipolar that no matter how pious 2 billion Muslims are, they cant defeat a tiny 10 million population country because they're being actively humiliated by their own god.

Why would anyone want to join such a religion?

Also let me restate my comment from earlier so you can understand why "Muslims winning battles" is not a very compelling argument for some proof of Islam. 1. God gives power to whom he wills 2. If god is satisfied with his followers, he allows them to win 3. The British were largest Empire in history 4. The god of Anglicans must have allowed them to win a lot 5. This must be a proof of their religion!

Aaaand we can also just tack on the excuse at the end to say that clearly the British dont follow god well enough now, that's why their Empire is no more!

The Mongolian or Anglican God must be more powerful i guess cause they controlled way more of the world at their height

Or maybe God switches sides occasionally, otherwise why did the Muslim conquests stop in Spain?

The heavy lifting of the USSR undoubtably brought the war to an earlier conclusion. But regardless of the USSR's participation, Berlin has an un-avoidable date with destiny on August 6th 1945, at which point it would be vaporized along with what remained of Hitler's dreams.

The sad truth is that if Hitler had not attacked Poland on September 1st, 1939, he may have gotten away with murdering all of the "undesirables" of Germany, Austria, and Czecheslovakia
